== Description ==

Average sized and russet brown. Her coat is for the most part unbroken but fades to darker in areas. Her eyes are a shrewd gold. She was vain in her youth. The immense scarring on her face, sides, and haunches over the years has tempered that some. She is also missing a large portion of her left ear and her left eye is clouded and sightless.

Rosalyn is unapologetic and uncompromising. She holds her opinions fast and has a hard time swaying in them. She's an accomplished ambassador and charismatic when need be, but she sees little point in connections that hold no benefit to her. Her list of friends is extremely small.

She has no desire to bring harm to others, but if she herself or someone she loves is harmed, she will not hesitate. Nor will she hesitate if the gain is worth the cost. She will step on another if it means her own will have a better chance to get ahead.

== History ==
=== Pre Teekon ===
Rosalyn was born to a single mother on the far southern shore. Her father was a drifter whose name she never learned and who left before her mother even knew she was pregnant. She had no littermates.

The ocean was a major resource for their pack and a staple in her life ever since she can remember. Her mother was always inattentive, so she turned to the waves often for games and comfort as a child.

Relative happiness lasted a while, but life on the coast wasn't easy. Pirates came and, in exchange for their pack's safety, Rosalyn was made a gift to their captain. She became a wench of the crew.

Her inability to keep her head down earned her the scorn of the other women and the attention of the men. When they were violent she would fight and, occasionally, she would win. Eventually she found mentors, women who showed her how to prevent children and how to deceive. It was a miserable cycle, but a crucible.

It reached a breaking point when finally, one night, the Captain pushed her too far. She killed him, and in the chaos that followed the women rose up. Those men who acquiesced were allowed to remain, the rest chased out or killed. Fortunately the favor of the women carried more pull than expected. Even for pride, many of the crew were loathe to lose it. Rosalyn assumed command as her closest mentor and love, [[Sarai]], became her second.

Rosalyn was still young and had no idea that she was being used; not until [[Sarai]] betrayed her. Shortly after her rise to Captain, her second cast her from the cliffs into the ocean.

She was lucky to survive and when she emerged, shattered by heartbreak and rage, she had no desire to return.

=== Saltwinter ===
Upon her arrival to Teekon, Rosalyn took up wandering as a loner. She signed to no packs right off, instead forming a casual friendship with [[Pantaleimon]] (aka "Kitten") and a casual friendship with benefits with [[Fox Redhawk]] (who she knew only a "Red"). She aided the former in returning home to [[Redhawk Caldera]] when they were sick, and then again assisted [[Finley Blackthorn]] by carrying news of her situation to the same pack.

A few month in, she was approached by a large man who spoke of a pack forming in order to survive the coming cold. His name was [[Vlad]] and the pack was [[Saltwinter]]. Rosalyn agreed to join, but she'd formed the opinion that any crew she joined she'd lead. She showed little respect for the self-made queen [[Caiaphas]], forming a tense rivalry that edged, but never broached, enemies.

[[Vlad]] became a close friend and confidant, nursing her back to health after an encounter with [[Shardul]] and constantly dubbing her "Mees Stendards". Eventually, however, her conflict with [[Caiaphas]] came to a head. The woman ordered [[Vlad]], at this point her second, to kill Rosalyn. Instead the two turned on her, but she and her followers matched them. They were chased from the Sound.

=== Sleeping Dragon ===
Separated from [[Vlad]] post-exile, Rosalyn fled south to avoid the famine. She remained there a while, but found nothing, so eventually wound her way north once more. This time she came across [[Thuringwethil]] who accepted her into the ranks of [[Sleeping Dragon]].

The pack held a familiar face in [[Wildfire]], but it was an ill-fitting choice from the start. Trades were required and the pack was rigidly structured, a concept that the pirate was not suited to. She remained until she recovered her strength and felt she had done her part; then, with word to [[Thuringwethil]], she departed.

=== Ironsea ===
This time while away, Rosalyn sought to connect with [[Vlad]] once more, but she could not track him down. On her return she chose to remain near the coast, encountering [[Smokestep]] and his band with their hopes to build a crew. She fell in with [[Ironsea]] much easier than any before; her time with pirates had not been the best of her life, but the lifestyle was comfortingly familiar, and this was a better variety than most.

Early on, Rosalyn entered a rivalry with [[Smokestep]]'s sister, [[Sandpiper]]. When the time to form came, she challenged her for First Mate and claimed the title. [[Smokestep]], though furious, was forced to acknowledge the victory.

[[Ironsea]] became Rosalyn's first true home. Here she formed fast friendships with [[Raptor]], [[Daikini]], and many others. Here was also where she first met [[Erzulie]]. The two began casually but quickly ignited into something more, something they did not label just yet.

On a scouting expedition to track down deserters, Rosalyn ran into [[Towhee]], and the pair ran afoul of a lynx. She was forced to recover with the [[Redhawks]] pack until she was well enough to travel. When she left, she did so with a thank you, but without a formal farewell. This seemed to leave bad blood between them.

On her arrival, she learned that [[Sandpiper]] had gone missing and that [[Smokestep]] was leaving to search for her. [[Rosalyn]] was furious that he would abandon the pack, but stepped up as Captain in his stead. She held it together a while, but when the bear [[Shardik]] came, they did not have the numbers to expell him. She and [[Erzulie]] fought so that the others might escape, but [[Ironsea]] was scattered to the winds.

=== Rusalka ===
The loss of Ironsea shook Rosalyn as few things had before. She and [[Erzulie]] wandered, the latter severely injured, and sought a harbor to rest in. They were rejected from [[Drageda]], the first pack they crossed, likely for the best due to Rosalyn's past dealings with [[Thuringwethil]]. Their relationship had soured during her time with Ironsea. They could not go to [[Redhawks]] either after an encounter with [[Niamh Blackthorn]] made it clear they would not be welcome.

They found safety in an unlikely place - with [[Caiaphas]] in the newly forming [[Rusalka]]. She was not thrilled, but deperation and fear for [[Erzulie]] persuaded Rosalyn to accept her old rival's aid. As the pack formed, tensions rose with the neighboring [[Drageda]]. Before the claim had even been made, [[Thuringwethil]] attacked Rosalyn on the borders and managed to take her captive.

She was held and starved for a month within the cliffs of [[Drageda]]. Eventually the Sound launched a rescue attempt, but the try was unsuccessful, and in the process Rosalyn sustained intensive injuries to her face. She lost the use of one eye and carries the scars still. Despite a broken leg, Rosalyn had decided to try (and likely drown) swimming for freedom. Drageda instead decided to set her free with a promise to never return.

She returned to [[Rusalka]] broken and begged [[Erzulie]] to let her leave. Both she and [[Caiaphas]] refused, so Rosalyn remained, but she maintained an obsessive distance from the cliffs and their shadow.

Quiet followed and they rebuilt. She and [[Erzulie]] made their mateship official and decided to have children, taking [[Firefly]] as their donor. A ways into their pregnancy, [[Caiaphas]] attacked [[Vectoringex]] and seemingly killed him. Rosalyn was furious over the inciting of further war and alarmed when [[Firefly]] chose to step up in the injured queen's stead. She moved to challenge him but instead stepped up alongside. This caused tension between herself and her wife and, when Erzulie confronted her, Rosalyn immediately stepped back down. She took the implication that Erzulie trusted Caiaphas more than herself deeply personally, and the gulf between them widened.

[[Firefly]] was furious with her abdication and confronted her. Rosalyn snapped and attacked him, then fled. When she returned, she was challenged by [[Vaati]]. In a fit of self destructive folly she fought him and lost. This fight, combined with the stress of the previous weeks, was too much for the children she carried.

She mended things with [[Erzulie]] and when her wife went into labor, she did as well. It was too early, but the dead children within her initiated prematurely. She lost four but one survived, a boy she named [[Reyes]]. The birthing was hard enough that she determined never to go through it again. She doesn't believe she'd survive it.

[[Firefly]] fled the pack that night and [[Caiaphas]] assisted them. Erzulie had four children; [[Nieve]], [[Clementine]], [[Scarab]], and [[Marisol]]. [[Illidan]] stepped to the head of the pack in his absence and life continued.

As they grew, some of their children were lost to wandering. Fearing for [[Clementine]], Rosalyn went after her to seek where she had gone, only intending to be gone a week or so. Instead she was waylaid when earthquakes struck, finding a near-dead [[Fennec]] and nursing her to health along the way. Eventually she made it back to the Sound, but the coast was destroyed and [[Rusalka]] had relocated.

She began a desperate search that ended when she finally found [[Nieve]]. Her daughter was the last of their children to remain, but she led her to [[Rusalka]]'s new claim, where [[Erzulie]] waited.

Here, she settled in. She and Erzulie took up positions as [[Aningan]]'s beta pair, allowing him to maintain leadership with their advisement. A new trio of wolves came and the pair saw them as a threat, asserting their dominance over their children and attempting to woo [[Aningan]] to (allegedly) gain leadership. She and Erzulie confronted them, eventually driving them to leave and found [[Yuelong]].

After that, the pack experienced a period of calm. Rosalyn and Erzulie made the decision to be mothers once again, her wife choosing Aningan as the father and she choosing [[Rosencrantz]]. In early spring Erzulie gave birth to two daughters, [[Aracelia]] and [[Soliare]]. In the early summer, Rosalyn gave birth to one child, a daughter named [[Chacal]]. It was an easier birth, but with the late heat and small litter, she feels this to be her last season.

Around this time, [[Raleska]] disappeared, pregnant with children born of a tryst with [[Dacio]]. [[Rosalyn]] was distraught over her disappearance without coming to her first, and with instead receiving word of this from her wife. She later re-appeared with two children, but did not wish to raise them for fear of becoming more like [[Caiaphas]]. While Rosalyn worried about her regretting this decision, she agreed to take them, raising [[Regin]] (a daughter) and [[Valravyn]] (a son) alongside [[Chacal]] as though they were her own.

=== Sapphique ===

The peace continued to last (despite moves/floods) until [[Wintersbane]] came and challenged [[Aninigan]] for his crown. When he won, Rosalyn and Erzulie chose to challenge him instead. They were tired of bowing to lesser men. Together the wives took control of Rusalka, but while [[Raleska]] was watching the children, [[Valravn]] was lost to the scent of a bear. Worried for the safety of the pack on the exposed moors, Rusalka relocated to Dragoncrest Cliffs, though the search for the missing child continued.

Upon arrival, they were immediately challenged by [[Sagtannet]] for their proximity and the history of the cliffs. Rosalyn refused to be intimidated and, in the end, war did not come. With news of a truce, Rosalyn and Erzulie reformed Rusalka into something new, their own vision for a pack: Sapphique.

Not long after [[Valravn]] was found, unbeknownst to Rosalyn, a disagreement broke out between [[Raleska]] and [[Rosencrantz]]. This resulted in the former retreating to the sound, where she encountered and was killed by [[Shardik]]. The selfsame monster responsible for many of Rosalyn's scars (and the breaking of Ironsea) then came to Sapphique, carrying the body with him. In the fight that followed, [[Kaertok]] was killed, and [[Rosencrantz]] succumbed to his wounds soon after.

Rosalyn was shattered by the death of her adopted daughter. [[Regin]] too vanished soon after.

Pack life continued despite this. Erzulie had more children and Rosalyn struggled with the mixed emotions following her own aged inability. She threw herself instead into protection and ensuring her wife had everything necessary. In early summer they welcomed four new additions, two sons and two daughters. Shortly after, Reyes arrived on their border and delivered news of his own mate and children; Erzulie and Rosalyn were now grandmothers. Though conflicted, Rosalyn eventually welcomed him and the plans to one day meet this new family he had formed. Eventually he did return and she was introduced to her grandson/daughters as well as his new prospective mate, [[Teya]].

She had been experiencing a degrading memory for a number of years, but when a storm struck and swept [[Mireille]] away, her symptoms worsened noticeably in the search. She lost herself before both [[Sobo]] and [[Erzulie]], stuck in scattered times long past. When her wife asked if she thought it was time to step down, Rosalyn acknowledged that it was the best decision for Sapphique's future. After a time spent grappling with this, she announced her intentions (and reasoning) to the pack. [[Chacal]] was appointed to stand alongside Erzulie instead.

Commonly known as "Fennec" or "Fenn".

Fennec is a willowy girl with large ears and tan fur. Her eyes are a milky grey and very obviously sightless. As a result, she moves carefully and deliberately.

Fennec is sarcastic and has a rather morbid sense of humor. It can be hard to tell by tone if she is joking and she loves to tell lies. She also enjoys scaring other wolves and forcing them into uncomfortable situations. Despite a selfish tendency to see things (hah) only from her point of view, Fennec does tend to mean well. She has a good heart despite a rather odd exterior.

== History ==

=== Redhawks ===
Fennec was born on Heron Lake Plateau alongside her brother [[Figment]]. Her mother [[Camilla]] had two others as well, both stillborn, and did not survive long after their birth. She was unresponsive through most of her time with them. Fennec was tiny and quiet from the start, but was her brother's constant partner-in-crime. After their mother died, [[Towhee]] stepped easily into the role, and began to make plans to move off of the plateau. She and [[Phox]] worried that the territory was too dangerous for Fennec's failing sight. An altercation with [[Tegan]] sparked the final move, he and Towhee getting into a fight during which he killed X's baby, a bird that was intended to be Fennec's guide.

=== Asterism Grove ===
The family's move unfortunately coincided with the complete deterioration of Fennec's sight. They settled in Hideaway Strath. She did not adjust well initially to a new place, but after a while bounced back with Figment's help. Now completely blind, she roamed with him as her guide.

=== Lone Wolf ===
When she was around six months old, earthquakes rocked Teekon Wilds. Fennec was near the borders when the first came and was terrified into a wild run from the territory. She ended up getting lost and nearly perished alone, dehydrated and hungry. [[Rosalyn]] found her and saved her from being devoured by a pack of coyotes, then reluctantly nursed her back to health and let her follow along. The woman made it clear that her presence was not welcome, though, and Fennec resented her despite the thanks she owed.

Happily, they eventually crossed paths with Wraen, and Fennec was able to latch on to a familiar presence.

=== Firebirds ===
When she arrived at the Firebirds, Fennec learned that the quakes had trapped the rest of her family in the Strath. She was forced to stay there alone and hope that they managed to somehow survive the disaster. This was when she met [[Penn]] and [[Bronco]], forming fast friendships with each, though she quickly latched onto the former as a likeminded soul. When [[Towhee]] did eventually escape (along with the rest), they chose to remain with the Firebirds rather than try and remake the Grove elsewhere.

After her stint alone, Fennec became obsessed with discovering the extent of her self-reliance. She began to test herself and to take regular trips outside of the borders of home, attempting to do so on the sly. She resented her brother's time away with Phox at the Frosthawks and the freedom that he had to choose where he went. At some point, Wraen caught her in her excursions and assisted her when she was jumped by (yet another) coyote. She cautioned her to learn to defend herself and Fennec doubled down.

Things settled for a while. Towhee had a surprise child in [[Meerkat]] and then Phox and Niamh gave her three half-siblings ([[Alyx]], [[Quetzal]], and [[Primrose]]). Around this same time, [[Finley]] and [[Elwood]] passed away together, and Fennec tried to help [[Penn]] to cheer up. Despite her efforts, he disappeared, and she fell into a foul disposition. She began to avoid her family and resent their (seemingly) constant demands that she babysit. Once again she grew restless, feeling trapped in the pack territory while the rest of her friends were free to go where they wanted.

Therefore, when Penn came back and invited her to travel with him, she leapt at the invitation. Figment and Towhee accepted her choice readily, but her decision to leave made her fight with both Phox and Bronco. Neither of them trusted Penn, but Fennec left regardless.

=== Lone Wolf ===
She traveled with Penn for a time, a few months, and the two covered a good deal of ground. Highlights were the shore, a canyon, and a "haunted forest" that Fennec adored where the trees almost seemed to be constantly moaning. While on this trip, Fennec gained more confidence in exploring new ground and better learned to rapidly map and read the terrain around her.

Eventually, however, Fennec wished to come back home to visit. On the way back, they ran into Figment at the Frosthawks, and the three returned together. By the time they got there, Bronco and Meerkat had both moved to Moonspear. She stayed for a visit and was there when the rains came and flooded the glade. The pack decided to move for the interim, but Penn, who had been weird since they returned, ducked off instead of attending the meeting. Fennec followed and found him preparing to disappear. She got angry and, when he gave her an ultimatum, told him to just leave. But by the time she got back, the pack had already left. === Redhawk Caldera ===
Hurt and angry, Fennec decided to finally try and make herself useful; she approached [[Eljay]] for lessons in healing. He began to teach her what he knew and she took to herbology in particular. Her training got off to a rocky start when [[Niamh]] tried to prevent her from treating a young wolf, and for a short time she hated her step-mother. The two made up when they sparred and Niamh choked her into submission. Fennec appreciated that she hadn't gone easy on her and Niamh seemed to appreciate the desperation with which she'd fought back.

Around this time, Bronco came to visit and invited her tentatively to train with Moonspear's healer for a time. Fennec accepted, and the next time Towhee went for a visit, Fennec went along as well. She didn't tell anyone ahead of time of her plan, but Hydra agreed and Fennec remained for a time.

=== Firefly Glen ===
When she came to Moonspear, Bronco and Meerkat had already agreed to help found a new pack in the neighboring glen. Fennec ended up remaining here for a time, settling in fairly quickly and helping them to found the pack. She began calling herself the "witch" of the glen, found a mentee in [[Sialuk]], and started building a den and a garden.

When she first arrived, Bronco had gifted her a silver foxfur pelt pouch for carrying herbs. Fennec intended to use it to start experimenting with poisons, and after accidentally poisoning herself with a bit of belladonna (nightshade), she started with cautious earnest. Alongside her normal garden she began to plan a hidden one to fill with poisonous plants.

She intended to invite Bronco and Meerkat to stay with her, and eventually asked Bronco to help with the den in trade. He agreed but collapsed it in on him, nearly suffocating himself in the process. Fennec dug him out but the event haunted her afterwards, triggering her abandonment issues and making her realize she cared a good deal more about him than was necessarily comfortable. She started work on a new den in secret, near the falls in the glade, a large space with a rock ceiling and a deep floor. She hoped the stone would help if Bronco maintained any fear after his mishap. During construction she avoided him, both to discourage his help and because she didn't know what to do with the awkwardness she felt. She met a number of glade wolves during this time instead and began to consider trying her hand at fortune telling (brought about by an attempt to incite brotherly rebellion in [[Atlas]]).

Around the time she finished her new den, Bronco returned from a trip to the coast with Meerkat. Despite her avoidance, Fennec was again upset at not having been invited along. He returned with a gift for her, however, so she decided to reveal her gift. When he did not even make it into the entrance before panicking, she was immensely hurt. Not used to opening up in such a way, she reacted badly, lashing out and insulting him before going radio silent once more.

She left the den, having made it too large for a single wolf, and began to stay in the Caldera and Bramblepoint. Her parents had moved there just recently and Towhee had mentioned the idea of a garden in the adjoining woods. Fennec took up the project with a gusto as a distraction, but while working on it, her restlessness and resentment only grew. Finally, without word or warning to anyone, Fennec took off north.

She had her badger companion that Phox had found her, eventually to be named "Quick", and also befriended a flock of ravens who were drawn in by a scavenged kill she offered them. The main two of this she began to call "Krrk" and "Kraa". All three were her best imitations at the sounds they most frequently made.

She chose the name "Wraith" for herself and began to send up calls, sending her birds out as well with word that she was there. She offered fortunes, curses, healing, and poisons to anyone who wanted to pay. Mainly Fennec's hope was to support herself, but she also took secrets as payment.

This was accelerated when, during a visit from [[Bronco]], a cougar attacked. She helped to drive it off, but in the process both Bronco and [[Alyx]] were gravely injured. She took on a good portion of their care. Just prior to this, she and Bronco had cleared the air, arguing and resolving the situation that led to her departure before. During the talk, Bronco revealed his feelings, but Fennec didn't respond in kind. Instead, the two resolved in about the same space they began, though with potentially more open understanding of one another.

After the cougar encounter, Fennec was frustrated by the way she'd held her own in the fight, and she requested mentoring from both Niamh and Towhee as a result. Later, [[Niamh]] came to her injured, and she caught Kiwi's scent upon her. Niamh then revealed that [[Kiwi]] had been the one to kill [[Colt]] and that, in turn, Niamh had taken care of her. This spurred a conversation between the two on when killing was acceptable and why.

Over a series of eventful days after the cougar attack, Meerkat came to the Caldera, deeply upset as a result of a bear attack in the den that left many of them dead. Then a bear showed up within the Caldera. Fennec was out at the time and attempted to lead it to the borders, away from those healing in the dens. Then Phox returned, bringing with him news that Fig was staying with the Frosthawks again and that he'd found Quick and her things where she'd left them within the canyon. Her ravens had also accompanied him, a fact she would learn when she visited the Bramblepoint shortly after.

After the fall of [[Firefly Glen]], [[Bronco]] returns for a visit and encounters Fennec while experiencing her first season. The two give into temptation and begin staying together, sequestered away from the rest of the pack. Unwilling to name it anything yet, Fennec is more than willing to take advantage of the circumstances, though she is horrified when she comes to realize that their actions resulted in consequences. They were going to be parents.

The pair had a single son, a pup named [[Killdeer]] who bore a resemblance to his (overjoyed) grandmother. Fennec's inexperience was obvious from the get go but she formed an immediate protective bond with the pup, one that surprised her perhaps more than anyone.

Shortly after their son was born, [[Bronco]] left to search for his missing mother and failed to return. Fennec kept up hope for a time, but as the months went by, she began to take her pent-up feelings out on those around her. She grew angrier, more isolated, and more impatient even than usual. Only Killdeer was spared from the crossfire.

This culminated in her stepping down from leadership and clashing with Towhee. Hurt and feeling betrayed, she contemplated leaving, but had promised herself she wouldn't run. It was around this time that Bronco returned.

It was a strained reunion with Fennec torn between the joy of seeing him again and the pain of knowing he'd stayed away by choice, wanting to keep them safe. She saw this protection as both cowardice and an underestimation/lack of trust in her. It caused a lot of arguments and a promise of mateship that was more ultimatum than anything else. While she tried to help him to come to terms with the trauma he'd obviously experienced, she had no idea or skill in how to manage this. This combined with his unwillingness to share resulted in her violently triggering his PTSD. She resolved after that to give him space and, while she never confirmed it, assumed their relationship was likely over.

Instead, as Bronco seemingly improved, he continued on as if nothing had changed. She was dubious of this until the Redhawks disbanded and he expressed interest in forming their own pack together.

=== Lone Wolf ===

After breaking off from what remained of Redhawk Caldera, Fennec and Bronco set off on a journey to find a territory to settle on. Along the way they picked up [[Figment]] and [[Blueberry]]. [[Killdeer]] chose to travel with his uncle [[Caracal]] instead. After a route that looped along the coast, they eventually settled within the Emberwood, choosing a territory with mountains at it's back and plenty of growth. The place suited them both perfectly.

Here they began to lay the foundations for a new pack claim.

As they began to establish, however, Fennec still felt that something was missing. She grew more and more restless, deeply unhappy with the way it felt that Bronco was avoiding her and hiding his true feelings. Seeking to regain his trust, she continued to give him space, but the longer things went without change, the worse it became.

Things finally came to a head with the advent of spring and Fennec's season. Driven to confront him, she brought up her feelings and tried to get Bronco to reveal why he had been so closed off. This kick-started an argument that resulted in a Bronco leaving and an end to their mateship. Despite his insistence that Arcana was hers, Fennec disbanded the forming group, unwilling (and unable) to remain without him.

Broken-hearted and angry, Fennec destroyed the gifts Bronco had given her. Then, alongside Figment, she began the search for Killdeer to inform her son that the Emberwood was no longer where they'd be settling.

She found and informed him, then left, needing more time. After a while she disappeared on Figment as well, traveling alone. After nearly drowning on the shore, Fennec found she had hit rock bottom and needed to find some way to move forward. Hoping family could help, Fennec returned to Mereo.

=== Mereo ===
Upon joining [[Mereo]], Fennec did not engage with the pack beyond her mother and son. A misunderstanding led her to believe that it's leader saw no potential in her. This compounded her bitterness and left her with a poor outlook on the pack as a whole, yet unwilling to leave and abandon her son once more.

[[Bronco]]'s presence nearby was a constant weight and she feared running into him at any given moment. An interaction with him led to a breaking point and she sought help from Towhee, who suggested she find a hobby to fill her time. This caused Fennec to remember, and attempt to reinstate, her gardens within the canyon. The activity did help some.

Eventually she decided to confront [[Bronco]] and inform him she couldn't be friends yet. This resulted in an argument where he admitted, in her eyes, that he'd never wanted to be mates in the first place. This was the final nail in the coffin and provided Fennec the closure she needed to consider anything they had finished.

A while later, still bitter towards him and her own circumstances, Fennec confronted [[Germanicus]] about his own failed marriage. The argument culminated in tension that led them to entangling. Afterwards [[Germanicus]] proposed a mateship. Fennec was skeptical, but was convinced when he explained and answered her questions fully. The goal wasn't love, just companionship.

Fennec accepted his offer, then traveled to inform [[Towhee]], who had recently relocated to neighboring [[Epoch]]. Despite her initial skepticism, Fennec was quickly surprised at how comfortable [[Germanicus]]' straightforward and logical nature made her feel.

Fennec is a willowy girl with large ears and tan fur. Her eyes are a milky grey and very obviously sightless. As a result, she moves carefully and deliberately.

Fennec is sarcastic and has a rather morbid sense of humor. It can be hard to tell by tone if she is joking and she loves to tell lies. She also enjoys scaring other wolves and forcing them into uncomfortable situations. Despite a selfish tendency to see things (hah) only from her point of view, Fennec does tend to mean well. She has a good heart despite a rather odd exterior.

Fennec was born on Heron Lake Plateau alongside her brother [[Figment]]. Her mother [[Camilla]] had two others as well, both stillborn, and did not survive long after their birth. She was unresponsive through most of her time with them. Fennec was tiny and quiet from the start, but was her brother's constant partner-in-crime. After their mother died, [[Towhee]] stepped easily into the role, and began to make plans to move off of the plateau. She and [[Phox]] worried that the territory was too dangerous for Fennec's failing sight. An altercation with [[Tegan]] sparked the final move, he and Towhee getting into a fight during which he killed X's baby, a bird that was intended to be Fennec's guide.

=== Asterism Grove ===
The family's move unfortunately coincided with the complete deterioration of Fennec's sight. They settled in Hideaway Strath. She did not adjust well initially to a new place, but after a while bounced back with Figment's help. Now completely blind, she roamed with him as her guide.

=== Lone Wolf ===
When she was around six months old, earthquakes rocked Teekon Wilds. Fennec was near the borders when the first came and was terrified into a wild run from the territory. She ended up getting lost and nearly perished alone, dehydrated and hungry. [[Rosalyn]] found her and saved her from being devoured by a pack of coyotes, then reluctantly nursed her back to health and let her follow along. The woman made it clear that her presence was not welcome, though, and Fennec resented her despite the thanks she owed.

Happily, they eventually crossed paths with Wraen, and Fennec was able to latch on to a familiar presence.

=== Firebirds ===
When she arrived at the Firebirds, Fennec learned that the quakes had trapped the rest of her family in the Strath. She was forced to stay there alone and hope that they managed to somehow survive the disaster. This was when she met [[Penn]] and [[Bronco]], forming fast friendships with each, though she quickly latched onto the former as a likeminded soul. When [[Towhee]] did eventually escape (along with the rest), they chose to remain with the Firebirds rather than try and remake the Grove elsewhere.

After her stint alone, Fennec became obsessed with discovering the extent of her self-reliance. She began to test herself and to take regular trips outside of the borders of home, attempting to do so on the sly. She resented her brother's time away with Phox at the Frosthawks and the freedom that he had to choose where he went. At some point, Wraen caught her in her excursions and assisted her when she was jumped by (yet another) coyote. She cautioned her to learn to defend herself and Fennec doubled down.

Things settled for a while. Towhee had a surprise child in [[Meerkat]] and then Phox and Niamh gave her three half-siblings ([[Alyx]], [[Quetzal]], and [[Primrose]]). Around this same time, [[Finley]] and [[Elwood]] passed away together, and Fennec tried to help [[Penn]] to cheer up. Despite her efforts, he disappeared, and she fell into a foul disposition. She began to avoid her family and resent their (seemingly) constant demands that she babysit. Once again she grew restless, feeling trapped in the pack territory while the rest of her friends were free to go where they wanted.

Therefore, when Penn came back and invited her to travel with him, she leapt at the invitation. Figment and Towhee accepted her choice readily, but her decision to leave made her fight with both Phox and Bronco. Neither of them trusted Penn, but Fennec left regardless.

She took on a good portion of their care. Just prior to this, she and Bronco had cleared the air, arguing and resolving the situation that led to her departure before. During the talk, Bronco revealed his feelings, but Fennec didn't respond in kind. Instead, the two resolved in about the same space they began, though with potentially more open understanding of one another.

After the cougar encounter, Fennec was frustrated by the way she'd held her own in the fight, and she requested mentoring from both Niamh and Towhee as a result. Then, when on a trip gathering supplies to treat her patients, Fennec stumbled upon [[Kiwi]]. The girl asked her questions that she was unwilling to answer, so Kiwi attacked. Fennec managed to pin her down and choke her senseless, a move she learned from her step-mother when it had been used on her. Later, [[Niamh]] came to her injured, and she caught Kiwi's scent upon her. Niamh then revealed that [[Kiwi]] had been the one to kill [[Colt]] and that, in turn, Niamh had taken care of her. This spurred a conversation between the two on when killing was acceptable and why.

Over a series of eventful days after the cougar attack, Meerkat came to the Caldera, deeply upset as a result of a bear attack in the den that left many of them dead. Then a bear showed up within the Caldera. Fennec was out at the time and attempted to lead it to the borders, away from those healing in the dens. Then Phox returned, bringing with him news that Fig was staying with the Frosthawks again and that he'd found Quick and her things where she'd left them within the canyon. Her ravens had also accompanied him, a fact she would learn when she visited the Bramblepoint shortly after.

After the fall of [[Firefly Glen]], [[Bronco]] returns for a visit and encounters Fennec while experiencing her first season. The two give into temptation and begin staying together, sequestered away from the rest of the pack. Unwilling to name it anything yet, Fennec is more than willing to take advantage of the circumstances, though she is horrified when she comes to realize that their actions resulted in consequences. They were going to be parents.

The pair had a single son, a pup named [[Killdeer]] who bore a resemblance to his (overjoyed) grandmother. Fennec's inexperience was obvious from the get go but she formed an immediate protective bond with the pup, one that surprised her perhaps more than anyone.

Shortly after their son was born, [[Bronco]] left to search for his missing mother and failed to return. Fennec kept up hope for a time, but as the months went by, she began to take her pent-up feelings out on those around her. She grew angrier, more isolated, and more impatient even than usual. Only Killdeer was spared from the crossfire.

This culminated in her stepping down from leadership and clashing with Towhee. Hurt and feeling betrayed, she contemplated leaving, but had promised herself she wouldn't run. It was around this time that Bronco returned.

It was a strained reunion with Fennec torn between the joy of seeing him again and the pain of knowing he'd stayed away by choice, wanting to keep them safe. She saw this protection as both cowardice and an underestimation/lack of trust in her. It caused a lot of arguments and a promise of mateship that was more ultimatum than anything else. While she tried to help him to come to terms with the trauma he'd obviously experienced, she had no idea or skill in how to manage this. This combined with his unwillingness to share resulted in her violently triggering his PTSD. She resolved after that to give him space and, while she never confirmed it, assumed their relationship was likely over.

Instead, as Bronco seemingly improved, he continued on as if nothing had changed. She was dubious of this until the Redhawks disbanded and he expressed interest in forming their own pack together.

=== Lone Wolf ===

After breaking off from what remained of Redhawk Caldera, Fennec and Bronco set off on a journey to find a territory to settle on. Along the way they picked up [[Figment]] and [[Blueberry]]. [[Killdeer]] chose to travel with his uncle [[Caracal]] instead. After a route that looped along the coast, they eventually settled within the Emberwood, choosing a territory with mountains at it's back and plenty of growth. The place suited them both perfectly.

Here they began to lay the foundations for a new pack claim.

As they began to establish, however, Fennec still felt that something was missing. She grew more and more restless, deeply unhappy with the way it felt that Bronco was avoiding her and hiding his true feelings. Seeking to regain his trust, she continued to give him space, but the longer things went without change, the worse it became.

Things finally came to a head with the advent of spring and Fennec's season. Driven to confront him, she brought up her feelings and tried to get Bronco to reveal why he had been so closed off. This kick-started an argument that resulted in a Bronco leaving and an end to their mateship. Despite his insistence that Arcana was hers, Fennec disbanded the forming group, unwilling (and unable) to remain without him.

Broken-hearted and angry, Fennec destroyed the gifts Bronco had given her. Then, alongside Figment, she began the search for Killdeer to inform her son that the Emberwood was no longer where they'd be settling.

She found and informed him, then left, needing more time. After a while she disappeared on Figment as well, traveling alone. After nearly drowning on the shore, Fennec found she had hit rock bottom and needed to find some way to move forward. Hoping family could help, Fennec returned to Mereo.

=== Mereo ===
Upon joining [[Mereo]], Fennec did not engage with the pack beyond her mother and son. A misunderstanding led her to believe that it's leader saw no potential in her. This compounded her bitterness and left her with a poor outlook on the pack as a whole, yet unwilling to leave and abandon her son once more.

[[Bronco]]'s presence nearby was a constant weight and she feared running into him at any given moment. An interaction with him led to a breaking point and she sought help from Towhee, who suggested she find a hobby to fill her time. This caused Fennec to remember, and attempt to reinstate, her gardens within the canyon. The activity did help some.

Eventually she decided to confront [[Bronco]] and inform him she couldn't be friends yet. This resulted in an argument where he admitted, in her eyes, that he'd never wanted to be mates in the first place. This was the final nail in the coffin and provided Fennec the closure she needed to consider anything they had finished.

A while later, still bitter towards him and her own circumstances, Fennec confronted [[Germanicus]] about his own failed marriage. The argument culminated in tension that led them to entangling. Afterwards [[Germanicus]] proposed a mateship. Fennec was skeptical, but was convinced when he explained and answered her questions fully. The goal wasn't love, just companionship.

Fennec accepted his offer, then traveled to inform [[Towhee]], who had recently relocated to neighboring [[Epoch]]. Despite her initial skepticism, Fennec was quickly surprised at how comfortable [[Germanicus]]' straightforward and logical nature made her feel.

Maia inherited her father's ghostly silver eyes as well as his patched grey appearance. Her tone is darker, however, and shot through with a light tan that frames her cheek and falls down her throat. She is a large, stocky wolf.

Maia is extremely bright and cheery and loves to tell stories. She will try to make friends with about any wolf and tends to try to make light of serious situations. She isn't a huge fan of large change, and she can be lazy at times, but she has a good heart and an optimistic outlook.

Her cheerful veneer hides a hugely self-deprecating core. She has a flair for being overdramatic and takes rejection and insults extremely personally. She'll try to shrug them off, but she tends to take others' opinions to heart. Sometimes her laziness is more fear than anything else; she has an inner voice that tells her often what she can and cannot do and she has a hard time ignoring it.

=== Pre-Teekon ===
Maia was born to [[Dante]] and [[Osprey]] into the [[Redleaf-DiSarinno Pack]]. She grew up safe and happy amongst her two littermates, [[Coriander]] and [[Cassandra]]. [[Wraen]] was there for a short time when she was young, but left soon after, and [[Sarah]] the only one to return for any amount of time after initially setting out.

Growing up, Maia got along well enough with Cori, but clashed often with Cass. She was immensely insecure even as a child and reacted poorly to Cass's teasing and occasional bossiness. Osprey wasn't the most present of mothers due to her illness, but she often told stories, and when she could not, Dante would instead. As a result, Maia held a deep love of any tale since before she could remember, and she always dreamed of becoming a storyteller who was half as accomplished as she thought her mother was. She also dreamed of becoming the hero of said stories, but lacked the drive needed to learn how to fight.

When she was nearly one year old, Maia decided to strike out, seeking to join her older siblings out in the wider world.

=== Sunspire ===
When Maia first arrived in Teekon Wilds, she went to Redhawk Caldera first, the place where her uncle supposedly lived and her mother had said she'd be welcome. Instead she'd met [[Tegan]] there. They did not hit it off and she left, finding that her siblings weren't there anyway. Leaving there, she struck out to find them. She was not adept at taking care of herself, inefficient at hunting, and wound up getting herself sick. By the time [[Wraen]] found her she was burning up with fever. Her sister helped her to recover before taking her to join [[Sunspire]] with [[Terance]]. Right when she arrived, while trying to get at some honey, Maia knocked a beehive down. Both she and Wraen were stung, but her sister had a terrible allergic reaction to the stings. Maia freaked out, afraid she'd killed her sister and that the pack (and Terance) would hate her. Her overreaction drew her into isolation and depression, only breaking from it when Wraen found her and convinced her she was alright.

After that, Maia began to integrate with the pack. She and Wraen grew extremely close very quickly, sharing a love of stories and childish games. Things remained relatively smooth, even with Terance's unintentional fatherhood straining some relations in the pack. Maia was simply resolved to be the best aunt ever! She was upset when Seabreeze and Terance split and the mother took the children to a neighboring pack, but did not have much time to dwell on it. A food shortage hit and the pack began to speak of moving.

Alongside her friend [[Coelho]], Maia assisted in scouting a new territory, and the two stumbled upon Lost Creek Hollow. While the logistics for the move were sorted out, Maia was a frequent babysitter to [[Liffey]] and [[Rannoch]]'s first brood of kids. Right before relocating, however, Wraen broke the news that she was burnt out on life in the pack and would not be moving with them. Instead, she would strike out on her own. Maia was torn between remaining with Terance and following Wraen, but she knew that she would follow her sister. It was a pattern that would track from that point forward.

Maia helped to escort the pack to Lost Creek Hollow, but never joined the pack. She said her goodbyes to Terance and then struck out to join Wraen in her travels.

=== Loner ===
Thus started a brief period of travel where she met a variety of wolves. The one who stuck out most, however, was [[Illidan]]. She'd become quickly smitten with him, referring to him as her "prince" as soon as she found out his mother led a pack near the sea. His sadness drew her to him, making her want to brighten it, but she did not cross paths with him again often or for a long time after. Instead, she and Wraen continued forth, eventually running into [[Wildfire]] and receiving an invitation to her newly forming pack. Wraen wished to accept and Maia acquiesced, knowing she could still travel just as well, even with a home to return to.

=== Firebirds ===
Thus began their stint with the [[Firebirds]]. Wraen was content to settle in, but Maia continued to travel, practicing her storytelling and meeting new wolves. One such wolf was [[Charon]] at the neighboring Moonspear. The two bonded over his friendship with her mother and became fast friends. Maia considered him one of her best all through the duration of their shared time, and she visited him often to swap stories and simply talk.

During her first visit back to Terance, however, Maia recieved horrible news. Sarah had returned to the wilds after a fire drove her out of their home forest. She did not know if their siblings had survived, but she did know that their parents had not made it out. Maia was shattered by this news. It took her weeks to regain some semblance of her positivity, but after that, it felt like the hits just kept rolling. First, she met a wolf who she presumed to be [[Illidan]]'s choice, and that sent her spiraling. Then, much worse, Wildfire died. Finally, to top it all off, she learned during a visit to Moonspear that Charon had perished as well. This was the straw that broke her. She let Wraen know that she needed time away, then left, wishing to spend some time and see for herself the ruin that their former home had become.

=== Interlude ===
Maia spent 4 months away. While she was home she found their siblings, alive and well, and was able to spend time with them mourning her parents and enjoying their company. It cheered her up immensely to know that they were all okay, and slowly, she began to heal.

=== Firebirds ===
On her initial return, Maia went to Terance first, intending to bring both he and Sarah the news that their siblings were okay. She only found Terance, unfortunately, but assumed she could deliver the news to Sarah eventually. Then she returned back to the Firebirds claim. The winter had been harsh and a famine had struck the wilds; Maia was starving before she could make it back. She attempted to snag food from Moonspear, but was knocked off and chased before she could manage even a bite. She might not have made it if it hadn't been for [[Preeti]], who helped her by gifting her a frog or two to eat. She ended up leading the girl to try to join the pack as well, but unfortunately changed her mind at the last moment, deciding to move on instead.

Maia was overjoyed to be reunited with Wraen, but upset to hear how much leadership had weighed on her. Apparently [[Colt]] had been killed by [[Kiwi]] (who she hated already) and Wraen had stepped up to lead in his stead. Maia began to grow self-conscious about her own contributions to the pack, but was determined to ensure her sister wasn't stuck doing nothing but working all the time.

Maia had met [[Eljay]] a few times before, but the first time she began to form a crush on him was when she attempted to help him and [[Weejay]] to look for signs of his missing son, [[Elfie]]. Maia adored Weejay from the start, both her love for her dad and her extremely sweet nature. Plus, she seemed to have a genuine love of stories that never went wrong with Maia! Shortly after, Eljay asked Maia to scout with him and to ask nearby packs if they had seen Elfie. She enthusiastically took him up on the offer and the two traveled, seeking information in a few neighboring places.

Eljay ended up returning early, but Maia stayed out a bit longer, striking out towards the coast. She came up empty and hated coming back with bad news, but she knew she needed to return. He was disappointed but understanding, and she managed to cheer him up a bit at least. It turned out that, while she was away, Wraen had once again met an encounter with some hornets. This time the effects seemed to take longer to wear off, and Towhee had taken control of the pack again. Maia didn't mind Wraen not leading (she wasn't a fan of 'responsible Wraen' anyway) but her sister's health worried her. Wraen, however, conversely requested that they leave and go traveling once again. Now that Bronco and Meerkat were living at Moonspear, the two packs were allies under Towhee's leadership, and Wraen and Arcturus did not wish to stay because of it. Maia was again torn, this time between Wraen and Eljay, and this time the decision was harder. Eventually she convinced herself that Eljay didn't want her that way, however, and that he'd be no worse off with her gone. Their final conversation, when she said her goodbyes, only seemed to confirm this for her. So together the three left to travel once more.

=== Loner ===
At first Maia resented leaving; not because of her sister, but because she felt awkwardly like a third wheel with Wraen and Arcturus together. Seeing them reminded her of Eljay and only made the decision worse. As time passed, however, she got past it and began to enjoy her time with them. She managed to rope [[Penn]] into their little band as well and together the four lived loose and free, wandering where they would and experiencing the different sides of the wilds. They followed a path through their parents' old territories... first the Sentinels, then the Plateau.

After a few months of this, Maia found herself near Redhawk Caldera. While considering whether or not to explore it, she was approached and then viciously attacked by a wolf who appeared friendly. She took off towards the Caldera but did not see the drop and, rather than stopping, fell within it. Injured and unconscious, she was fortunately found by Eljay, who had relocated there only a short time prior with the rest of the Firebirds. He took her to his den, treated her injuries, and the two had a raw conversation that was spurred by a breakdown from Maia. During this, Maia realized she'd fallen in love with him and Eljay, in turn, confessed that he liked her. She confirmed that she 'liked' him as well, and the two spend her recovery in close companionship, both attempting to ignore the fact that soon she'd need to choose again once Wraen came and she was ready to travel once more. Towhee seemed keen on her staying, but Maia struggled with knowing that Wraen would be alone (aside from Arcturus, of course) without her.

When Wraen showed up, her health had again taken a small turn. She spent a couple of days recovering, then they began to work out a plan on how things might play out. The situation with Moonspear had worsened, apparently, with an encounter between Wraen and one of Arcturus' "friends". Maia proposed that they settle near Redhawk Caldera, but away from the mountain, and use their friendship with the Moonspear's allies to their advantage. She would be able to visit Eljay regularly, Wraen and Arcturus would not have to fear Hydra, and they could remain close to their friends and family within the other pack. The sisters decided on Broken Antler Fen to make their claim, and together they began to pull together a pack.

As soon as she was recovered enough, Maia decided to head to where Terance last was to let their brother know where they would be living now. Instead Maia met Arbiter who informed her of Terance's death. She returned unhappily home, once more the bearer of bad news, to tell Wraen and the others about it.

=== Brecheliant ===
Slowly they began to pull together more and more members, and discussions began on how the pack would work. Maia was conflicted because, while she knew she might end up needing to leave to keep Eljay, a large part of her wished to embrace life in this new pack. She was tempted to try leading, though self-confidence and her doubts that anyone would take her seriously kept her from speaking up. Eventually she worked up the courage, however, and was given the role of Raven alongside Teya and Ibis (who was in turn promoted to Auspex).

Following this, Maia also worked up the courage to ask Eljay to come live with her. He didn't give her a yes or a no at first, but the perceived refusal made Maia overreact and caused both of them to spiral, each thinking they'd upset the other. The decision wasn't really made until they began to talk about children; when Eljay asked for permission, he was told no, and this was the final factor that decided their home. Eljay immediately came to live alongside her in Brecheliant.

It was a rocky beginning but after some time, they settled in and were able to start a family. Though she worried for a time that she wouldn't be able to, Maia ended up with two daughters; [[Sylvie]] and [[Hymnal]].

The very day her daughters were born, however, tradgedy struck; Wraen died of the illness that had been plaguing her ever since they struck out to travel alone. Maia was absolutely shattered by this. She slipped into a deep depression that was only really broken by the necessity to take care of her new children. In the midst of that, there was a second blow when Ibis also perished. As a result of her niece's death, Maia and Eljay also took in her pups and made the decision to raise them as well.

Slowly she began to move forward. In her grief, she stepped down as Raven and focused solely on her family, but she watched proudly as Eljay was made Auspex in Ibis' stead. Despite their efforts, [[Diantha]] never accepted them as her parents; she left as soon as she was old enough. [[Jasmine]] followed shortly after but on better terms - departing to search for a missing [[Bridget]].

In the midst of winter, famine struck the Fen. Redhawk Caldera had recently been vacated for unknown reasons, so Eljay and Teya made the decision to relocate the pack to the abandoned region. It was difficult to leave the forest she'd discovered with Wraen behind, but there was healing as well in taking some space from it.

Fennec is a willowy girl with large ears and tan fur. Her eyes are a milky grey and very obviously sightless. As a result, she moves carefully and deliberately.

Fennec is sarcastic and has a rather morbid sense of humor. It can be hard to tell by tone if she is joking and she loves to tell lies. She also enjoys scaring other wolves and forcing them into uncomfortable situations. Despite a selfish tendency to see things (hah) only from her point of view, Fennec does tend to mean well. She has a good heart despite a rather odd exterior.

=== Redhawks ===
Fennec was born on Heron Lake Plateau alongside her brother [[Figment]]. Her mother [[Camilla]] had two others as well, both stillborn, and did not survive long after their birth. She was unresponsive through most of her time with them. Fennec was tiny and quiet from the start, but was her brother's constant partner-in-crime. After their mother died, [[Towhee]] stepped easily into the role, and began to make plans to move off of the plateau. She and [[Phox]] worried that the territory was too dangerous for Fennec's failing sight. An altercation with [[Tegan]] sparked the final move, he and Towhee getting into a fight during which he killed X's baby, a bird that was intended to be Fennec's guide.

=== Asterism Grove ===
The family's move unfortunately coincided with the complete deterioration of Fennec's sight. They settled in Hideaway Strath. She did not adjust well initially to a new place, but after a while bounced back with Figment's help. Now completely blind, she roamed with him as her guide.

=== Lone Wolf ===
When she was around six months old, earthquakes rocked Teekon Wilds. Fennec was near the borders when the first came and was terrified into a wild run from the territory. She ended up getting lost and nearly perished alone, dehydrated and hungry. [[Rosalyn]] found her and saved her from being devoured by a pack of coyotes, then reluctantly nursed her back to health and let her follow along. The woman made it clear that her presence was not welcome, though, and Fennec resented her despite the thanks she owed.

Happily, they eventually crossed paths with Wraen, and Fennec was able to latch on to a familiar presence.

=== Firebirds ===
When she arrived at the Firebirds, Fennec learned that the quakes had trapped the rest of her family in the Strath. She was forced to stay there alone and hope that they managed to somehow survive the disaster. This was when she met [[Penn]] and [[Bronco]], forming fast friendships with each, though she quickly latched onto the former as a likeminded soul. When [[Towhee]] did eventually escape (along with the rest), they chose to remain with the Firebirds rather than try and remake the Grove elsewhere.

After her stint alone, Fennec became obsessed with discovering the extent of her self-reliance. She began to test herself and to take regular trips outside of the borders of home, attempting to do so on the sly. She resented her brother's time away with Phox at the Frosthawks and the freedom that he had to choose where he went. At some point, Wraen caught her in her excursions and assisted her when she was jumped by (yet another) coyote. She cautioned her to learn to defend herself and Fennec doubled down.

Things settled for a while. Towhee had a surprise child in [[Meerkat]] and then Phox and Niamh gave her three half-siblings ([[Alyx]], [[Quetzal]], and [[Primrose]]). Around this same time, [[Finley]] and [[Elwood]] passed away together, and Fennec tried to help [[Penn]] to cheer up. Despite her efforts, he disappeared, and she fell into a foul disposition. She began to avoid her family and resent their (seemingly) constant demands that she babysit. Once again she grew restless, feeling trapped in the pack territory while the rest of her friends were free to go where they wanted.

Therefore, when Penn came back and invited her to travel with him, she leapt at the invitation. Figment and Towhee accepted her choice readily, but her decision to leave made her fight with both Phox and Bronco. Neither of them trusted Penn, but Fennec left regardless.

=== Lone Wolf ===
She traveled with Penn for a time, a few months, and the two covered a good deal of ground. Highlights were the shore, a canyon, and a "haunted forest" that Fennec adored where the trees almost seemed to be constantly moaning. While on this trip, Fennec gained more confidence in exploring new ground and better learned to rapidly map and read the terrain around her.

Eventually, however, Fennec wished to come back home to visit. On the way back, they ran into Figment at the Frosthawks, and the three returned together. By the time they got there, Bronco and Meerkat had both moved to Moonspear. She stayed for a visit and was there when the rains came and flooded the glade. The pack decided to move for the interim, but Penn, who had been weird since they returned, ducked off instead of attending the meeting. Fennec followed and found him preparing to disappear. She got angry and, when he gave her an ultimatum, told him to just leave. But by the time she got back, the pack had already left. She was alone a few days once more before Figment and Towhee returned to find her, and it was then that she determined she was back for good.

=== Redhawk Caldera ===
Hurt and angry, Fennec decided to finally try and make herself useful; she approached [[Eljay]] for lessons in healing. He began to teach her what he knew and she took to herbology in particular. Her training got off to a rocky start when [[Niamh]] tried to prevent her from treating a young wolf, and for a short time she hated her step-mother. The two made up when they sparred and Niamh choked her into submission. Fennec appreciated that she hadn't gone easy on her and Niamh seemed to appreciate the desperation with which she'd fought back.

Around this time, Bronco came to visit and invited her tentatively to train with Moonspear's healer for a time. Fennec accepted, and the next time Towhee went for a visit, Fennec went along as well. She didn't tell anyone ahead of time of her plan, but Hydra agreed and Fennec remained for a time.

=== Firefly Glen ===
When she came to Moonspear, Bronco and Meerkat had already agreed to help found a new pack in the neighboring glen. Fennec ended up remaining here for a time, settling in fairly quickly and helping them to found the pack. She began calling herself the "witch" of the glen, found a mentee in [[Sialuk]], and started building a den and a garden.

When she first arrived, Bronco had gifted her a silver foxfur pelt pouch for carrying herbs. Fennec intended to use it to start experimenting with poisons, and after accidentally poisoning herself with a bit of belladonna (nightshade), she started with cautious earnest. Alongside her normal garden she began to plan a hidden one to fill with poisonous plants.

She intended to invite Bronco and Meerkat to stay with her, and eventually asked Bronco to help with the den in trade. He agreed but collapsed it in on him, nearly suffocating himself in the process. Fennec dug him out but the event haunted her afterwards, triggering her abandonment issues and making her realize she cared a good deal more about him than was necessarily comfortable. She started work on a new den in secret, near the falls in the glade, a large space with a rock ceiling and a deep floor. She hoped the stone would help if Bronco maintained any fear after his mishap. During construction she avoided him, both to discourage his help and because she didn't know what to do with the awkwardness she felt. She met a number of glade wolves during this time instead and began to consider trying her hand at fortune telling (brought about by an attempt to incite brotherly rebellion in [[Atlas]]).

Around the time she finished her new den, Bronco returned from a trip to the coast with Meerkat. Despite her avoidance, Fennec was again upset at not having been invited along. He returned with a gift for her, however, so she decided to reveal her gift. When he did not even make it into the entrance before panicking, she was immensely hurt. Not used to opening up in such a way, she reacted badly, lashing out and insulting him before going radio silent once more.

She left the den, having made it too large for a single wolf, and began to stay in the Caldera and Bramblepoint. Her parents had moved there just recently and Towhee had mentioned the idea of a garden in the adjoining woods. Fennec took up the project with a gusto as a distraction, but while working on it, her restlessness and resentment only grew. Finally, without word or warning to anyone, Fennec took off north.

=== Loner ===
Her venture took her into the Sunspire Mountains but, after a hunting accident, she fell into Redsand Canyon and fractured her ribs. She did not want to risk injuring herself more by attempting to climb out and instead decided to stay here for a time and attempt her dream at becoming a proper "witch of the wilds". She had her badger companion that Phox had found her, eventually to be named "Quick", and also befriended a flock of ravens who were drawn in by a scavenged kill she offered them. The main two of this she began to call "Krrk" and "Kraa". All three were her best imitations at the sounds they most frequently made.

She chose the name "Wraith" for herself and began to send up calls, sending her birds out as well with word that she was there. She offered fortunes, curses, healing, and poisons to anyone who wanted to pay. Mainly Fennec's hope was to support herself, but she also took secrets as payment.

She ended up doing better for herself than she'd originally planned. She gained practice, amusement, and even reverence for her efforts. Still, she found herself deeply unhappy, the guilt over abandoning her family and the Glen chewing her up. She did not like living completely alone, and while she relished the independence, she hated the quiet and the isolation it brought.

When Meerkat finally stumbled across her, Fennec followed her to safety and allowed her to lead them back home. Unfortunately, she left her companions (and her pouch) behind in the rush.

=== Redhawk Caldera ===
Avoiding the Glen (and Bronco) for a bit longer, Fennec had Meerkat take her to the Caldera instead. She said that it was because she was injured (truth) and she wished to have Eljay look at her. She did tell one outright lie, however, saying that she'd gotten lost and fallen rather than confessing to running away. The next day, however, when she was walking to meet Eljay, Fennec fell on her side. The impact shattered her fractured ribs and sent a shard into her lung, puncturing it.

She was bedridden in the Caldera now for weeks, unable to move. Her lung had collapsed and, with winter arriving, herbs for pain were in short supply. Her mental state began to deteriorate as she was forced to wait for her body to heal, but couldn't properly sleep, eat, speak, or even breathe. This wasn't helped by news of an influx of new joiners to the Glen and the realization that, if she did recover, they no longer had a place for her there.

Finally her body began to heal, and she began to not mind the idea of remaining so much. Fennec found what she liked more than anything else was feeling necessary, and in the Caldera she began to come into her own as she stepped more into the role of healer alongside Eljay. This was accelerated when, during a visit from [[Bronco]], a cougar attacked. She helped to drive it off, but in the process both Bronco and [[Alyx]] were gravely injured. She took on a good portion of their care. Just prior to this, she and Bronco had cleared the air, arguing and resolving the situation that led to her departure before. During the talk, Bronco revealed his feelings, but Fennec didn't respond in kind. Instead, the two resolved in about the same space they began, though with potentially more open understanding of one another.

After the cougar encounter, Fennec was frustrated by the way she'd held her own in the fight, and she requested mentoring from both Niamh and Towhee as a result. Then, when on a trip gathering supplies to treat her patients, Fennec stumbled upon [[Kiwi]]. The girl asked her questions that she was unwilling to answer, so Kiwi attacked. Fennec managed to pin her down and choke her senseless, a move she learned from her step-mother when it had been used on her. Later, [[Niamh]] came to her injured, and she caught Kiwi's scent upon her. Niamh then revealed that [[Kiwi]] had been the one to kill [[Colt]] and that, in turn, Niamh had taken care of her. This spurred a conversation between the two on when killing was acceptable and why.

Over a series of eventful days after the cougar attack, Meerkat came to the Caldera, deeply upset as a result of a bear attack in the den that left many of them dead. Then a bear showed up within the Caldera. Fennec was out at the time and attempted to lead it to the borders, away from those healing in the dens. Then Phox returned, bringing with him news that Fig was staying with the Frosthawks again and that he'd found Quick and her things where she'd left them within the canyon. Her ravens had also accompanied him, a fact she would learn when she visited the Bramblepoint shortly after.

After the fall of [[Firefly Glen]], [[Bronco]] returns for a visit and encounters Fennec while experiencing her first season. The two give into temptation and begin staying together, sequestered away from the rest of the pack. Unwilling to name it anything yet, Fennec is more than willing to take advantage of the circumstances, though she is horrified when she comes to realize that their actions resulted in consequences. They were going to be parents.

The pair had a single son, a pup named [[Killdeer]] who bore a resemblance to his (overjoyed) grandmother. Fennec's inexperience was obvious from the get go but she formed an immediate protective bond with the pup, one that surprised her perhaps more than anyone.

Shortly after their son was born, [[Bronco]] left to search for his missing mother and failed to return. Fennec kept up hope for a time, but as the months went by, she began to take her pent-up feelings out on those around her. She grew angrier, more isolated, and more impatient even than usual. Only Killdeer was spared from the crossfire.

This culminated in her stepping down from leadership and clashing with Towhee. Hurt and feeling betrayed, she contemplated leaving, but had promised herself she wouldn't run. It was around this time that Bronco returned.

It was a strained reunion with Fennec torn between the joy of seeing him again and the pain of knowing he'd stayed away by choice, wanting to keep them safe. She saw this protection as both cowardice and an underestimation/lack of trust in her. It caused a lot of arguments and a promise of mateship that was more ultimatum than anything else. While she tried to help him to come to terms with the trauma he'd obviously experienced, she had no idea or skill in how to manage this. This combined with his unwillingness to share resulted in her violently triggering his PTSD. She resolved after that to give him space and, while she never confirmed it, assumed their relationship was likely over.

Instead, as Bronco seemingly improved, he continued on as if nothing had changed. She was dubious of this until the Redhawks disbanded and he expressed interest in forming their own pack together.

=== Lone Wolf ===

After breaking off from what remained of Redhawk Caldera, Fennec and Bronco set off on a journey to find a territory to settle on. Along the way they picked up [[Figment]] and [[Blueberry]]. [[Killdeer]] chose to travel with his uncle [[Caracal]] instead. After a route that looped along the coast, they eventually settled within the Emberwood, choosing a territory with mountains at it's back and plenty of growth. The place suited them both perfectly.

Here they began to lay the foundations for a new pack claim.

As they began to establish, however, Fennec still felt that something was missing. She grew more and more restless, deeply unhappy with the way it felt that Bronco was avoiding her and hiding his true feelings. Seeking to regain his trust, she continued to give him space, but the longer things went without change, the worse it became.

Things finally came to a head with the advent of spring and Fennec's season. Driven to confront him, she brought up her feelings and tried to get Bronco to reveal why he had been so closed off. This kick-started an argument that resulted in a Bronco leaving and an end to their mateship. Despite his insistence that Arcana was hers, Fennec disbanded the forming group, unwilling (and unable) to remain without him.

Broken-hearted and angry, Fennec destroyed the gifts Bronco had given her. Then, alongside Figment, she began the search for Killdeer to inform her son that the Emberwood was no longer where they'd be settling.

She found and informed him, then left, needing more time. After a while she disappeared on Figment as well, traveling alone. After nearly drowning on the shore, Fennec found she had hit rock bottom and needed to find some way to move forward. Hoping family could help, Fennec returned to Mereo.

=== Mereo ===
Upon joining [[Mereo]], Fennec did not engage with the pack beyond her mother and son. A misunderstanding led her to believe that it's leader saw no potential in her. This compounded her bitterness and left her with a poor outlook on the pack as a whole, yet unwilling to leave and abandon her son once more.

[[Bronco]]'s presence nearby was a constant weight and she feared running into him at any given moment. An interaction with him led to a breaking point and she sought help from Towhee, who suggested she find a hobby to fill her time. This caused Fennec to remember, and attempt to reinstate, her gardens within the canyon. The activity did help some.

Eventually she decided to confront [[Bronco]] and inform him she couldn't be friends yet. This resulted in an argument where he admitted, in her eyes, that he'd never wanted to be mates in the first place. This was the final nail in the coffin and provided Fennec the closure she needed to consider anything they had finished.

A while later, still bitter towards him and her own circumstances, Fennec confronted [[Germanicus]] about his own failed marriage. The argument culminated in tension that led them to entangling. Afterwards [[Germanicus]] proposed a mateship. Fennec was skeptical, but was convinced when he explained and answered her questions fully. The goal wasn't love, just companionship.

Fennec accepted his offer, then traveled to inform [[Towhee]], who had recently relocated to neighboring [[Epoch]]. Despite her initial skepticism, Fennec was quickly surprised at how comfortable [[Germanicus]]' straightforward and logical nature made her feel.

=== Redhawk Caldera ===
Tierra was born to [[Towhee]] in [[Redhawk Caldera]] alongside her siblings on March 27, 2021. From the start she was loud and her volume only got worse as she grew in both size and lung capacity. There weren't many things small Sapsucker liked more than insults, yelling, and any combination of the two. In time 'no' would become one of her favorite phrases.

Despite her more annoying traits, Tierra didn't become a problem(tm) until Reyes accidentally instinctually attacked Caracal. As a result, Towhee chased the man off, causing a devastated reaction in her daughter (who understood little of what was happening). Over time she became more and more convinced that her daddy had the right idea in leaving and, when things came to a head in a heated argument with Caracal, Tierra chose to run off. She did so with the intention of finding her dad and living with him, but in the end she only got herself lost.

== Territory ==

Whether due to the prevalence of ragweed and flowers or by some other unspoken natural wonder, Sun Mote Copse is known for always having particles of something, usually pollen, floating through the air. The trees grow high and sparse, with sprawling canopies that filter in the sunlight, making Sun Mote Copse the brightest of all forests in the area, and the drifting particles practically glow with the sunlight.

== Description ==

Maia inherited her father's ghostly silver eyes as well as his patched grey appearance. Her tone is darker, however, and shot through with a light tan that frames her cheek and falls down her throat. She is a large, stocky wolf.

Maia is extremely bright and cheery and loves to tell stories. She will try to make friends with about any wolf and tends to try to make light of serious situations. She isn't a huge fan of large change, and she can be lazy at times, but she has a good heart and an optimistic outlook.

Her cheerful veneer hides a hugely self-deprecating core. She has a flair for being overdramatic and takes rejection and insults extremely personally. She'll try to shrug them off, but she tends to take others' opinions to heart. Sometimes her laziness is more fear than anything else; she has an inner voice that tells her often what she can and cannot do and she has a hard time ignoring it.

=== Pre-Teekon ===
Maia was born to [[Dante]] and [[Osprey]] into the [[Redleaf-DiSarinno Pack]]. She grew up safe and happy amongst her two littermates, [[Coriander]] and [[Cassandra]]. [[Wraen]] was there for a short time when she was young, but left soon after, and [[Sarah]] the only one to return for any amount of time after initially setting out.

Growing up, Maia got along well enough with Cori, but clashed often with Cass. She was immensely insecure even as a child and reacted poorly to Cass's teasing and occasional bossiness. Osprey wasn't the most present of mothers due to her illness, but she often told stories, and when she could not, Dante would instead. As a result, Maia held a deep love of any tale since before she could remember, and she always dreamed of becoming a storyteller who was half as accomplished as she thought her mother was. She also dreamed of becoming the hero of said stories, but lacked the drive needed to learn how to fight.

When she was nearly one year old, Maia decided to strike out, seeking to join her older siblings out in the wider world.

=== Sunspire ===
When Maia first arrived in Teekon Wilds, she went to Redhawk Caldera first, the place where her uncle supposedly lived and her mother had said she'd be welcome. Instead she'd met [[Tegan]] there. They did not hit it off and she left, finding that her siblings weren't there anyway. Leaving there, she struck out to find them. She was not adept at taking care of herself, inefficient at hunting, and wound up getting herself sick. By the time [[Wraen]] found her she was burning up with fever. Her sister helped her to recover before taking her to join [[Sunspire]] with [[Terance]]. Right when she arrived, while trying to get at some honey, Maia knocked a beehive down. Both she and Wraen were stung, but her sister had a terrible allergic reaction to the stings. Maia freaked out, afraid she'd killed her sister and that the pack (and Terance) would hate her. Her overreaction drew her into isolation and depression, only breaking from it when Wraen found her and convinced her she was alright.

After that, Maia began to integrate with the pack. She and Wraen grew extremely close very quickly, sharing a love of stories and childish games. Things remained relatively smooth, even with Terance's unintentional fatherhood straining some relations in the pack. Maia was simply resolved to be the best aunt ever! She was upset when Seabreeze and Terance split and the mother took the children to a neighboring pack, but did not have much time to dwell on it. A food shortage hit and the pack began to speak of moving.

Alongside her friend [[Coelho]], Maia assisted in scouting a new territory, and the two stumbled upon Lost Creek Hollow. While the logistics for the move were sorted out, Maia was a frequent babysitter to [[Liffey]] and [[Rannoch]]'s first brood of kids. Right before relocating, however, Wraen broke the news that she was burnt out on life in the pack and would not be moving with them. Instead, she would strike out on her own. Maia was torn between remaining with Terance and following Wraen, but she knew that she would follow her sister. It was a pattern that would track from that point forward.

Maia helped to escort the pack to Lost Creek Hollow, but never joined the pack. She said her goodbyes to Terance and then struck out to join Wraen in her travels.

=== Loner ===
Thus started a brief period of travel where she met a variety of wolves. The one who stuck out most, however, was [[Illidan]]. She'd become quickly smitten with him, referring to him as her "prince" as soon as she found out his mother led a pack near the sea. His sadness drew her to him, making her want to brighten it, but she did not cross paths with him again often or for a long time after. Instead, she and Wraen continued forth, eventually running into [[Wildfire]] and receiving an invitation to her newly forming pack. Wraen wished to accept and Maia acquiesced, knowing she could still travel just as well, even with a home to return to.

=== Firebirds ===
Thus began their stint with the [[Firebirds]]. Wraen was content to settle in, but Maia continued to travel, practicing her storytelling and meeting new wolves. One such wolf was [[Charon]] at the neighboring Moonspear. The two bonded over his friendship with her mother and became fast friends. Maia considered him one of her best all through the duration of their shared time, and she visited him often to swap stories and simply talk.

During her first visit back to Terance, however, Maia recieved horrible news. Sarah had returned to the wilds after a fire drove her out of their home forest. She did not know if their siblings had survived, but she did know that their parents had not made it out. Maia was shattered by this news. It took her weeks to regain some semblance of her positivity, but after that, it felt like the hits just kept rolling. First, she met a wolf who she presumed to be [[Illidan]]'s choice, and that sent her spiraling. Then, much worse, Wildfire died. Finally, to top it all off, she learned during a visit to Moonspear that Charon had perished as well. This was the straw that broke her. She let Wraen know that she needed time away, then left, wishing to spend some time and see for herself the ruin that their former home had become.

=== Interlude ===
Maia spent 4 months away. While she was home she found their siblings, alive and well, and was able to spend time with them mourning her parents and enjoying their company. It cheered her up immensely to know that they were all okay, and slowly, she began to heal.

=== Firebirds ===
On her initial return, Maia went to Terance first, intending to bring both he and Sarah the news that their siblings were okay. She only found Terance, unfortunately, but assumed she could deliver the news to Sarah eventually. Then she returned back to the Firebirds claim. The winter had been harsh and a famine had struck the wilds; Maia was starving before she could make it back. She attempted to snag food from Moonspear, but was knocked off and chased before she could manage even a bite. She might not have made it if it hadn't been for [[Preeti]], who helped her by gifting her a frog or two to eat. She ended up leading the girl to try to join the pack as well, but unfortunately changed her mind at the last moment, deciding to move on instead.

Maia was overjoyed to be reunited with Wraen, but upset to hear how much leadership had weighed on her. Apparently [[Colt]] had been killed by [[Kiwi]] (who she hated already) and Wraen had stepped up to lead in his stead. Maia began to grow self-conscious about her own contributions to the pack, but was determined to ensure her sister wasn't stuck doing nothing but working all the time.

Maia had met [[Eljay]] a few times before, but the first time she began to form a crush on him was when she attempted to help him and [[Weejay]] to look for signs of his missing son, [[Elfie]]. Maia adored Weejay from the start, both her love for her dad and her extremely sweet nature. Plus, she seemed to have a genuine love of stories that never went wrong with Maia! Shortly after, Eljay asked Maia to scout with him and to ask nearby packs if they had seen Elfie. She enthusiastically took him up on the offer and the two traveled, seeking information in a few neighboring places.

Eljay ended up returning early, but Maia stayed out a bit longer, striking out towards the coast. She came up empty and hated coming back with bad news, but she knew she needed to return. He was disappointed but understanding, and she managed to cheer him up a bit at least. It turned out that, while she was away, Wraen had once again met an encounter with some hornets. This time the effects seemed to take longer to wear off, and Towhee had taken control of the pack again. Maia didn't mind Wraen not leading (she wasn't a fan of 'responsible Wraen' anyway) but her sister's health worried her. Wraen, however, conversely requested that they leave and go traveling once again. Now that Bronco and Meerkat were living at Moonspear, the two packs were allies under Towhee's leadership, and Wraen and Arcturus did not wish to stay because of it. Maia was again torn, this time between Wraen and Eljay, and this time the decision was harder. Eventually she convinced herself that Eljay didn't want her that way, however, and that he'd be no worse off with her gone. Their final conversation, when she said her goodbyes, only seemed to confirm this for her. So together the three left to travel once more.

=== Loner ===
At first Maia resented leaving; not because of her sister, but because she felt awkwardly like a third wheel with Wraen and Arcturus together. Seeing them reminded her of Eljay and only made the decision worse. As time passed, however, she got past it and began to enjoy her time with them. She managed to rope [[Penn]] into their little band as well and together the four lived loose and free, wandering where they would and experiencing the different sides of the wilds. They followed a path through their parents' old territories... first the Sentinels, then the Plateau.

After a few months of this, Maia found herself near Redhawk Caldera. While considering whether or not to explore it, she was approached and then viciously attacked by a wolf who appeared friendly. She took off towards the Caldera but did not see the drop and, rather than stopping, fell within it. Injured and unconscious, she was fortunately found by Eljay, who had relocated there only a short time prior with the rest of the Firebirds. He took her to his den, treated her injuries, and the two had a raw conversation that was spurred by a breakdown from Maia. During this, Maia realized she'd fallen in love with him and Eljay, in turn, confessed that he liked her. She confirmed that she 'liked' him as well, and the two spend her recovery in close companionship, both attempting to ignore the fact that soon she'd need to choose again once Wraen came and she was ready to travel once more. Towhee seemed keen on her staying, but Maia struggled with knowing that Wraen would be alone (aside from Arcturus, of course) without her.

When Wraen showed up, her health had again taken a small turn. She spent a couple of days recovering, then they began to work out a plan on how things might play out. The situation with Moonspear had worsened, apparently, with an encounter between Wraen and one of Arcturus' "friends". Maia proposed that they settle near Redhawk Caldera, but away from the mountain, and use their friendship with the Moonspear's allies to their advantage. She would be able to visit Eljay regularly, Wraen and Arcturus would not have to fear Hydra, and they could remain close to their friends and family within the other pack. The sisters decided on Broken Antler Fen to make their claim, and together they began to pull together a pack.

As soon as she was recovered enough, Maia decided to head to where Terance last was to let their brother know where they would be living now. Instead Maia met Arbiter who informed her of Terance's death. She returned unhappily home, once more the bearer of bad news, to tell Wraen and the others about it.

=== Brecheliant ===
Slowly they began to pull together more and more members, and discussions began on how the pack would work. Maia was conflicted because, while she knew she might end up needing to leave to keep Eljay, a large part of her wished to embrace life in this new pack. She was tempted to try leading, though self-confidence and her doubts that anyone would take her seriously kept her from speaking up. Eventually she worked up the courage, however, and was given the role of Raven alongside Teya and Ibis (who was in turn promoted to Auspex).

Following this, Maia also worked up the courage to ask Eljay to come live with her. He didn't give her a yes or a no at first, but the perceived refusal made Maia overreact and caused both of them to spiral, each thinking they'd upset the other. The decision wasn't really made until they began to talk about children; when Eljay asked for permission, he was told no, and this was the final factor that decided their home. Eljay immediately came to live alongside her in Brecheliant.

It was a rocky beginning but after some time, they settled in and were able to start a family. Though she worried for a time that she wouldn't be able to, Maia ended up with two daughters; [[Sylvie]] and [[Hymnal]].

The very day her daughters were born, however, tradgedy struck; Wraen died of the illness that had been plaguing her ever since they struck out to travel alone. Maia was absolutely shattered by this. She slipped into a deep depression that was only really broken by the necessity to take care of her new children. In the midst of that, there was a second blow when Ibis also perished. As a result of her niece's death, Maia and Eljay also took in her pups and made the decision to raise them as well.

Slowly she began to move forward. In her grief, she stepped down as Raven and focused solely on her family, but she watched proudly as Eljay was made Auspex in Ibis' stead. Despite their efforts, [[Diantha]] never accepted them as her parents; she left as soon as she was old enough. [[Jasmine]] followed shortly after but on better terms - departing to search for a missing [[Bridget]].

In the midst of winter, famine struck the Fen. Redhawk Caldera had recently been vacated for unknown reasons, so Eljay and Teya made the decision to relocate the pack to the abandoned region. It was difficult to leave the forest she'd discovered with Wraen behind, but there was healing as well in taking some space from it.

Kiwi was small and delicate with chocolate brown fur and vivid green eyes. There was nothing dainty about her personality; she carried herself with a haughty hubris that bordered on insufferable.

The girl had no empathy for others unless the image of it in some way benefitted her. She was the personification of pride and took both rejection and insults extremely badly. Jealousy consumed her and she expected to be the center of attention; she was often deeply insulted when this failed to be the case.

Kiwi was a perfectionist and tended to twist situations so that she always came out in the right, even within her own mind. She judged others unfailingly, but the degree to which she did so depended on how highly they placed her. If she felt she was a priority to them, she was often more forgiving.

=== Drageda ===
Kiwi was born to Wildfire within Drageda. She only knew [[Thuringwethil]] to be her Nomi, though her sire was [[Etoille]]. She led a fairly uneventful childhood within the cliffs, growing and learning eagerly. From a very young age she had a proclivity towards proving herself, and she tended to correct her siblings as well as adults around her. She aspired to one day be Heda, though that dream would prove to be impossible. Hedas were chosen only from children born with no living siblings.

When she and her sister were still young, and Thuringwethil recovering from injuries, they chose to go off exploring. While out, she was separated from her sister, but found by a former member of Drageda. After spending some time with [[Eva]] and [[Mallaidh]], they were able to track down [[Blixen]] and return her to her older sister and family. When she arrived home Bat was already there and she was in trouble. But she settled back fairly quickly into a routine of playing with her siblings and training with the adults (including her older brother, [[Artaax]]).

Shortly after, when nomi had recovered from her wounds, she took [[Ephraim]] and a few others and went north to one of their sister ''kru''. At first it did not sink in, but when [[Bat]] disappeared as well, Kiwi was left alone with Wildfire and her brother Tux. She grew resentful, angry that her sister had gone to explore without her and that nomi had chosen to take an outsider over her. It was then that she met [[Sequoia]], and her friendship with the girl helped some. Even when [[Silkie]] eventually returned, she held his departure against him as well.

Her resentment soured especially heavily against [[Thuringwethil]], who had been her idol before departing. She felt utterly betrayed that her mother would leave her behind, so when [[Wildfire]] stated that she was leaving [[Drageda]], Kiwi chose to follow her. In doing so she was tossing aside her kru, but her loyalty to her mom outweighed her loyalty to ''heda''. She was afraid of losing both mothers. Fortunately, [[Sequoia]] agreed to come with as well. Her family had scattered too and the girls had bonded in their mutual distaste.

=== Redhawks ===
When they arrived at the [[Redhawks]] claim, where Wildfire said her family was, they also found [[Bat]]. Kiwi was relieved to find her sister alive, but also extremely resentful. She was hurt both on her behalf and on the behalf of their mother, who Bat had allowed (in her estimation) to think she was dead this entire time. She was also jealous; she felt undercut in her support of her mom when it seemed (to her) that all Wildfire cared about was finding Bat again. She refused to forgive her and instead wrote her off, declaring [[Sequoia]] as her 'new sister' instead.

After staying for a time, Artaax showed up on the borders, stating that he was there to take them home. Kiwi responded that with Nomi gone, they could build a new kru here, and that he should stay. Instead he threatened them and deemed them natrona, traitor. This only stoked Kiwi's resolve more, and she vowed to prove to them that she was stronger than him or Drageda. After that, she grew closer to her mother and began to train with the Redhawk wolves ([[Niamh]] in particular).

=== Firebirds ===
After some time, Wildfire took Kiwi and Sequoia to see Sun Mote Copse and showed them what soon would be her new claim. She'd chosen to move because of the thread of Drageda as well as overcrowding within the plateau. Kiwi didn't mind so long as her mom and Sequoia came with, and said that she liked the territory. So all together, they decided to found the [[Firebirds]].

As they began work on founding, Wildfire informed Kiwi that she would be made Honoree, with plans to be made Regent as soon as she was old enough. Kiwi was thrilled to be trusted with a rank and leadership alongside Sequoia, who would be given the same.

Just after the pack was officially founded, [[Tegan]] returned with news that [[Bat]] had fallen through the ice and presumably drowned. Kiwi ran, upset, but her mom followed her. Together they mourned and Kiwi confronted the guilt she felt over never having made things right. She came to blame Tegan for what had happened, determining that he was the reason Bat had drowned - if she was there, she would have saved her.

When Wildfire came forward with the news that she wished to have more kids with Eljay, Kiwi was immensely jealous. She thought that Eljay was far too weak to ever give worthwhile siblings and she didn't like the idea of sharing her mother's attention or legacy. She did begin to take healing lessons from Eljay, though, which allowed her to at least spend a bit of time with him. Her feelings were further assuaged when Wildfire informed her that her pregnancy would mean Kiwi needed to step up as Regent. But she still felt that Wildfire was replacing their Drageda family with a new one, and her accusations caused tension between the two. A chat with [[Colt]] changed her perspective, however, as he revealed that it would be on her to train her younger siblings and to teach them what to do. She quite liked the idea of that. While in the Firebirds, she made close friends with [[Clover]] as well, and things began to look up.

Then [[Towhee]] came with news that [[Bat]] was, once again, alive and well. Kiwi was a little shell-shocked and wasn't sure how to react; she'd already lost her sister a few times over, only to get her back, and the yo-yo it caused was beginning to fray. She couldn't feel much of anything and it frightened her. Nothing aside from resentment, because it seemed that every time something important happened, Bat showed up just in time to steal the limelight. She struggled with that for a while, but finally opened up to Wildfire about not wanting Bat back in her life as her sister. Her mother accepted the decision, lightening her guilt.

All through this, though, Drageda did remain on her mind. Eventually, the drive sent her north, just to see the cliffs again. But on her way, she met Artaax, who savagely attacked her. Nomi had died, and he sent her away. Something in Kiwi shifted with that encounter... and with the blows she'd taken. The PTS gave her light seizures and slowly, her personality began to shift... about her nomi's death, she felt practically nothing. The same about her brother's betrayal. Everything was consumed by a need to prove herself better and stronger than any of them.

Plagued with headaches, she began to take more responsibility in the pack regardless, though her tone got meaner. She was particularly bullying to [[Maia]], who she saw as an easy target (and a slacker). She grew ruder, more dismissive of others, and more sure of her own unfailing abilities. She built more and more walls, spurning an apology from [[Artaax]], and began to twist facts for her own benefit.

Then Sequoia left. If anything, after that, Kiwi's mood grew worse. Though the parting was amicable, she began to pick a bit on her younger siblings too when her mother wasn't around. She was a harsh teacher and an unforgiving critic. Slipping deeper and deeper into a downward mood swing, Kiwi finally left, disappearing to revisit Drageda once more. She needed to see what had become of it with Heda's death.

=== Lone Wolf ===
She found the cliffs deserted; Drageda was no more. Rather than leave, she entered a race of sorts with [[Dacio]]; this was her chance to finally take the role that should have always been her, claim the title of Heda and make her mother proud. Why she thought Wildfire would care was a mystery... but somehow, her mind had convinced itself that her goal was her mom's as well. Besides - Wildfire had a new family now. So began her quest to build Skairipa. It was an attempt that also brought her head to head with [[Caiaphas]], who claimed a pick of her first litter for the exchange of settling the cliffs. Kiwi refused, convinced she could claim it regardless of good will.

Then Kiwi met [[Yami]], and once more she had a confidante and partner in crime. Rather than face Caiaphas straight off, they claimed Nova Peak instead, setting up a base and beginning to recruit in hopes of one day taking the cliffs. She and [[Dacio]] laid out a tense truce, his claim in a neighboring forest, and they made tentative plans to join forces against the common threat. Unfortunately, Kiwi's pride and aggression made her a singularly bad recruiter. She never managed to achieve the numbers for a proper claim. They did fight a few threats, however... including a bear, Dacio and his sister [[Opalia]] joining to drive the creature off.

She and Yami ended up getting into it when Kiwi accepted her brother, [[Revui]], into the cause. She still sought to reclaim the cliffs, but Yami felt they should give up on it and keep the mountain. Kiwi was unwilling to compromise on her mission, however, causing a slight rift between them. When Revui disappeared shortly after, Kiwi's patience began to thin. It had been a long time away, so she decided to go south once more and visit her mother.

When she arrived, she found no trace of Wildfire's scent. Instead [[Colt]] was now in charge. Furious, Kiwi demanded answers, but refused to accept the explanation that her mother had died of an illness. Instead she was convinced, in her grief, that Colt had conspired with who knows who else to kill her and to take her position as Soverign. She attacked him, and after a bitter fight, both were severely wounded. In the end, Colt bested her, chasing her from the territory.

She did not make it far before she was forced to hole up. Eventually Wraen found her, unconscious, and decided to show her mercy. She helped her to a hiding place and assisted her in healing up enough to disappear. Kiwi told her about Yami and the woman fetched her as well. When her friend arrived, they made plans to leave entirely, abandon the mountain and start over someplace new.

=== Lone Wolf ===

That fall, Kiwi made a return to the wilds. While Yami stayed behind to scout recruits, she returned to Nova Peak. The mountain would be the focus of her claim this time. She started in and wasted no time recruiting wolves, though the idea also occurred to her that she might simply steal another's claim and make it her own.

She was meaner even still now, and took more delight in the discomfort and weakness of others. She trusted no one and held no real empathy for any she met; once again, she found it impossible to really gain a loyal following. None who she met served her standards, and those she did recruit were quickly scattered.

[[Yami]] returned partially into the founding, however, and it raised Kiwi's spirits considerably to be reunited with her. She was pretty bothered to hear what had happened while she was gone (some guy apparently attempted to have his way with her) but resolved to simply kill him if she ever caught wind of his presence. Yami was ''hers'', pure and simple. She promptly named Yami as her Advisor... her own title would be Queen.

While wandering after, Kiwi came across an injured [[Sugar Glider]]. Rather than help her, Kiwi chose to torment her further, taking delight in her helplessness. She shifted gears when her sister [[Bat]] showed up, though in the end, she dropped the act. She had lost any desire to mend fences. Recruiting was obviously not working, so after rescuing Yami from her asshole family, Kiwi proposed her plan b; take over a pack rather than create one. Yami did not seem keen on the idea, but agreed so long as they didn't kill the alpha. Kiwi disagreed that such an act wouldn't be right, but agreed it wouldn't be the smartest choice.

=== Interlude ===
Together, Kiwi and [[Yami]] left Teekon again, this time to usurp a pack. They wound up wandering a while until they found one worth joining; the leader was old and weak. He'd chosen to refuse her his position and insulted her in the process, something that she couldn't let stand. She gave him an honorable death, allowing his age and idiocy to be the excuses to forget what Yami had previously stated.

Her friend was horrified and turned on her, as did the rest of the pack. She was chased out and once again cast to wander on her own.

=== Lone Wolf ===
When she returned this time, Kiwi was a wolf without aim or direction. She ran into [[Sequoia]] straight off, but doubled down on her hateful shunning of any resolution. She refused to accept Sequoia's leaving, at this point, as anything but a personal attack. She toyed with the idea of again reclaiming a pack, taking a territory, building something... but instead, her steps led her south.

Almost unthinkingly, her sights set on Redhawk Caldera, where she stumbled across traces of once-Firebirds. While scouting, she sought information from [[Fennec]], then attacked the girl when none was forthcoming. Rather than win, the blind wolf pinned and choked her, leaving her to wake up later utterly humiliated. Before departing, the 'witch' departed a curse... and her handy defeat despite her apparent 'weakness' set a chill on Kiwi that maybe, just maybe, her magic was real.

Either way, a curse was set; [[Niamh]] caught her trail while traveling to the glen. The woman ran her down and the two engaged in a viscous fight. At the finish, Kiwi's body was left to the blizzard, her fragmented soul finally laid to rest.

An assortment of browns lightening to tan as they cascade down. Colt boasted a pair of molten bourbon eyes and the famous Blackthorn stripe extending down his spine.

Colt was suave and somewhat egotistical, especially when he was young. He was constantly aware of his best points and used that knowledge shamelessly. He enjoyed pushing boundaries but knew when to shut up (most of the time).

As he grew older Colt tempered somewhat, gaining more tact but losing none of his charm. He still tended towards reckless over cautions, but he learned to take and give advice when needed.

Growing up among the Blackthorns, Colt's favorite and first partner in crime was always his sister [[Finley]]. The two ran his parents ragged, and usually were joined by his best friend [[Hawkin]]. When they finally made to set out, the three did so together, just like they did everything.

Colt knew his friend had a crush on his sister, and he thought the two of them would be kinda rad together. Why shouldn't they? [[Hawkin]] had some issues, but he was a good guy. When [[Finley]] rebuked him, and[[Hawkin]] took his own life shortly after, Colt unfairly blamed his sister as a result. He confronted her about it and they split ways.

Losing both his best friends like that sent Colt into a self destructive spiral. He passed the next few years in a series of one night stands and pissing contests, always only staying in a pack long enough to mouth off and get chased from their ranks. He fathered a few illegitimate children towards the end of it, but never learned their names, nor remembered the names of their mothers. He couldn't be bothered to care.

It seemed like that was all his life was meant to be until he met [[Nell]]. She latched onto him as a friend and, for the first time, someone refused to put up with his bullshit. Somehow she saw the wolf underneath and, by her persistence, they formed a close relationship that soon turned more than friends. They settled apart for the summer, but intended to look for a pack of their own once winter began settling in.

Instead, [[Nell]] took ill with paralytic rabies shortly after they made their home. Colt was helpless to do more than watch as she slowly lost the ability to function and then wasted away, passing days later. Grieving, Colt nearly sank once more into former habits, but instead, his thoughts turned to his sister. It was time for him to find his family again.

=== Redhawk Caldera ===
It took Colt a bit, but after running across [[Quixote]] and then [[Elwood]], Colt decided to join [[Redhawk Caldera]] and attempt to mend things with [[Finley]]. They sorted it out rather fast and he settled into the pack just in time for their war with [[Blackfeather Woods]]. Colt fought for them and they managed to route the other pack for a time. A fond encounter with [[Relmyna]] made his feelings on the matter conflicted but he was too new to know much about the situation anyway.

Then the enemy pack returned and, at [[Towhee]]'s insistence, the pack relocated.

=== Redhawks ===
The caldera pack moved to Heron Lake Plateau and took the moniker [[Redhawks]]. [[Screech]], [[Towhee]]'s brother, had hoped to claim the place, and while [[Colt]] empathized with him, his biggest hope was to settle without conflict. [[Towhee]]'s management of this situation was the first fuel on the fire that would ignite dislike between them. Her deafness and her use of a bird as assistance bothered him immensely, as did her insistence to fight unnecessary battles.

In the end, the two packs merged and made a new home. [[Towhee]] became Alpha, a role change that Colt immediately hated. After discussing his doubts with [[Quixote]] and [[Elwood]], Colt wasn't satisfied with leaving things as they were. He snuck up on Towhee in an attempt to make a point of her inadequacy to lead, but it backfired. She kicked him out of the pack.

His friend [[Quixote]] hooked up with [[Raven]] and, after a series of events Colt neither knew nor understood, suddenly they were the alpha pair and [[Towhee]] was back to Beta. Qui wasted no time in welcoming Colt back into the pack on the promise that he'd attempt to mend things with [[Towhee]]. His attempts did not go well, and on the brink of giving up, he approached [[Raven]] for advice. She began teaching him Ptero and he continued to learn from her, picking up the language at least in part.

Colt struck up a friendship with [[Niamh]] as well, checking in on her after an accident with [[Screech]] had her watching over her comatose friend. His worry culminated when [[Screech]] attacked [[Raven]] and was cast out; [[Niamh]] seemed shell shocked. He allowed her to stay with him rather than return to where she'd been caring for Screech.

Colt began to catch feelings for [[Niamh]] bigtime, but his doubt that he was over [[Nell]] made him hesitate. He tried talking to [[Quixote]] about everything, but it ended up going south somewhat, with Colt realizing it was a decision he'd need to make himself. Finally, he committed, though they did not label it immediately.

Eventually Colt took [[Niamh]] to his and [[Nell]]'s old home and spilled everything. He felt he needed to, had to let her know, before he truly moved on and opened up to her. Soon after, even with his sister [[Ceara]]'s disappearance weighing on his mind, he asked [[Niamh]] to take his name. She agreed and the two became mates.

They had a minor spat when Colt was bluntly honest about [[Raven]]'s recent absence, but that was quickly resolved. A bigger fight happened when a Blackfeather wolf, [[Maegi]], showed up with news of [[Ceara]]. In order to hear what she had to say, Colt intercepted [[Towhee]]'s attempt to kill the girl outright. The Beta was knocked unconscious and [[Niamh]] told him to either kill the girl or never come back. Colt, furious that his mate would back her friend over him (especially in something so important as his sister), left with no intentions to return. She caught up with him after he found [[Ceara]], but they were unable to patch things up. He left the pack, but in telling [[Finley]] of his intentions, learned of a new place to go.

=== Firebirds ===

Colt joined and took up residence with the [[Firebirds]] under the leadership of [[Wildfire]]. A ways into his membership, he crossed paths with [[Niamh]] once more. She begged him for a second change and he acquiesced, but only if she left the [[Redhawks]] and came to live with him instead. She agreed, came, and they slowly began to mend their relationship.

It went well. So well, in fact, that Colt ended up approaching [[Wildfire]] and asking about kids. She refused on the grounds of not knowing them well enough. After asking [[Finley]] and [[Elwood]] advice, Colt worked at it alongside his mate, eventually turning that 'no' into a 'yes'. He and Niamh had two children - [[Bronco]] and [[Nellie]].

Colt was a doting father, but when Wildfire fell sick and passed, he stepped up as Sovereign. Juggling a full pack was hard, but he managed it, until the day [[Wildfire]]'s daughter [[Kiwi]] returned. He met her at the borders and delivered the news about her mother, but she attacked him, claiming that he had murdered her mother for her position. Colt won the fight, but his wounds were heavy.

Despite attention from [[Sugar Glider]] and [[Eljay Jr.]], Colt grew sick. He died of sepsis only a short time after.

Born to average parents in an average pack, Danica's family was forced to relocate when she was young as the group disbanded. They quickly found another home and joined, lowest rungs on a large totem pole. As a child she was shy, but as she grew, she learned that few gave a damn what she had to say. Twisting the narrative, she decided that rather than keep her mouth shut, she in turn wouldn't give a damn what they thought. She learned to speak her mind.

One of the higher ranking young males in the pack took note. He began to court her, but Danica only had eyes for her best friend - a young she-wolf named Caryssa. The pack was old fashioned; when she made her feelings known, the affections were not returned. Disgusted, her best friend went to leadership, who cast Danica from the pack with force. Before she disappeared, she returned the favor, attacking her former flame and friend. The two parted bitter enemies.

She wandered, but did not gel with many packs. Her humor was sardonic and her mouth got her into more trouble than most. She was turbulent and rebellious and did not respond well to authority that blustered.

=== Swiftcurrent Creek ===
When Danica stumbled across [[Swiftcurrent Creek]], she was met by [[Fox]], who accepted her into the pack on the condition that she would assist in sending a warning to a group at odds with them. She agreed and joined the ranks. Settling in, she kept her promise and joined a raid on the newly formed [[Sunspire]] pack. This was the first of many clashes as tensions rose between the packs, the latter formed from members ousted from the Creek previously.

Unused to such longheld residence, Danica began to grow restless. The conflict was a welcome distraction, but in back to back encounters with [[Ferdie Von Pelt]] and [[Amekaze]], Danica was sorely injured. She returned to find that [[Fox]] had fled, so delivered her news to [[Bazi]]. The [[Sunspire]] had taken two captives. Soon after they brought them, but spoke conditions of peace. [[Bazi]] had stepped into Fox's role and accepted.

Danica had begun to have burgeoning feelings for the Beta, and those feelings only grew as time passed. [[Bazi]], however, seemed to have eyes only for [[Scimitar]]. Jealousy lay heavily on the golden she-wolf, but she continued to serve. As [[Bazi]] stepped up as Alpha, Danica was named a "counsellor" alongside [[Galileo]]. This news fell flat alongside [[Scimitar]]'s appointment to Beta and, even more upsetting, [[Tuwawi]] and [[Njal]]'s news that they were leaving to create a home of their own. Danica had taken to denning near the family; she had grown to love their children. Bazi asked her to escort the Sveijarns and help to relocate the pups, a request Danica accepted.

Danica's jealousy had reached a breaking point by now. Unable to hold her tongue any longer, she confronted [[Bazi]] about the feelings she held. The Alpha did not take the news well. She refused her and requested that, when Danica escorted the family, she stay with them. Resigned to her fate and expecting no better, Danica accepted without much of a fight. Tuwawi was upset by the news but welcomed an exiled Danica with open arms. [[Shadow]], who had become a good friend in her time with the Creek, offered to leave with her. Danica asked him not to, saying he belonged with [[Paarthurnax]] and that Bazi wasn't all bad. His validation meant a lot.

Her chapter with the Creek closed, and together the family moved on.

=== Duskfire Glacier ===
Danica settled in at the Glacier, enjoying the company of the Sveijarn family. She took some small pleasure in playing with the children and meeting her new packmates, but threw herself particularly into tasks for the good of the pack. She wasn't one to enjoy sitting idly, especially when her mind was unsettled. After a time she formed a small circle and made it a home. She was particularly close to [[Maera]] and formed a strong comradeship with [[Hatshepsut]].

From the start of their claim, the glacier was stalked by a pair of lynxes. Danica chased them tirelessly, fearing their effect on the pups, but was unable to track them down. Tradgedy finally struck when they attacked and stole [[Larus]] away, [[Njal]] disappearing after to pursue. Shortly after this, [[Bazi]] showed up near the glacier with a broken leg, presumably gained on her way for a visit. Begrudgingly Danica escorted her to remain with them and recover. While there, Bazi admitted she'd made a mistake in turning Danica away and asked her to come "home". The two argued and Danica revealed that she was thinking of leaving the Glacier. They parted with bitter words, nothing resolved.

Danica had a chance (re)encounter with [[Caiaphas]] upon the beach and recognized Larus's scent on her. When she questioned the siren, the woman toyed with her. Danica immediately attacked but was unable to get any answers. [[Tuwawi]] disappeared shortly after, but despite holding the highest rank, Danica refused to take the lead. Instead, she proposed [[Malachi]] take it. He had been there since the start as well and was more suited, in her mind, to the task. He led until Njal returned and continued to lead after. Finally, Tuwawi returned... and Danica, in turn, departed. She wished to seek her fortunes elsewhere, lonely watching families around and yet with none to truly call her own.

=== Nova Peak ===
Danica returned a shadow of her former self. She'd been injured early on in her travels and had been forced to live on what she could scavenge. She returned to the Creek to make good on the promise of a favor in return for Bazi's aid, but she found it empty. Shadow met her there instead, inviting her to his pack, and she accepted the invitation. She did not join, however.

Instead she encountered Bazi once more. Her former leader had started a new pack upon Nova Peak alongside Scimitar. The two finally made some sort of peace and Danica relocated, joining. For a while she was well and truly home once more.

A month or so after joining, Danica's past caught her. She ran into her first flame, the one who had gotten her cast from her birth pack. She was with others, wolves who had hated her then and who were only too happy to finish the job now. They ran her down and tore her apart, leaving her to die in a valley just shy of the Peak.

A large grey wolf with dark stippling and a somber appearance. His silver eyes are framed with dark markings and his fur is long and shaggy.

Dante was a rather no-nonsense wolf who dealt little with superstition. He held himself and others to high standards and could sometimes be rather harsh in judgements. He tended towards pessimism, but with [[Osprey]], learned a little of how to be whimsical.

For the most part he was a friendly and steadfast wolf. He was not quick to anger and had patience that lent itself well to his counselor trade. He was not great at showing enthusiastic affection but he loved his friends and packmates well.

Dante was the firstborn son of Atrix Cor Obscuri, Commander of the Caligae pack. His parents' union was arranged; his mother Kira was chosen for her promise in providing heirs worthy of taking Atrix's place when he inevitably fell. Tarin and Daes were both born alongside, but from the outset, it was clear that Dante was his father's favored heir. He also had an older sibling who he did not find out about until later - Melusina. She and her mother resented Kira and her children, believing that Melusina's claim was better. Women did not tend to hold the title Commander, so Atrix refused to acknowledge her place in the lineage.

The Caligae were a vicious band. The story was that, long ago, they were an escaped faction of a larger warband. Liberated by Dante's great great grandfather, they traveled south, razing every pack they came across who was not strong enough to deter them. It was their mantra that the strongest deserved to survive and that those weaker only used resources they could not earn. Few of the pack lived past their prime, and those that lived to become infirm were seen as dishonored. True honor was found falling in battle.

Dante grew quickly, and while he had a good relationship with his brother, he was particularly fond of his sister Tarin. While they began their training, it became clear quickly that she did not have a taste for violence. Dante and Daes both excelled, but she refused to fight, and very soon she was cast to the lowest rung of the pack. Training when they were pups was simple fights, but as they grew older, the fights became more and more ruthless. Finally, after finishing a bout when he was a few months old, Atrix ordered him to finish his opponent. "Honor his defeat". The other combatant was one of Dante's best friends, but he couldn't refuse. This act would go on to haunt him, even into his older adult life.

Shortly before their training was complete, Tarin was finally chased from the pack. Dante, tired of the bloodshed and unwilling to let her go alone, followed. If found, both would be killed on sight as traitors to their blood. They barely escaped intact.

Eventually, after traveling together a ways, they came across a pack. Tarin was enamored with the place and fell in love soon after. Dante was unhappy there, butting heads with the leader regularly, and so they parted ways. She was in good hands with her mate and happy.

It was during his travels after, alone, that he met with [[Helena]]. The two became fast friends and travel partners, and together the two found their way into Teekon Wilds.

=== Blacktail Deer Plateau ===

Shortly after arriving, Helena disappeared. Dante met [[Peregrine]] and the two hit it off, so Dante sought membership in [[Blacktail Deer Plateau]]. He formed close bonds with [[Blue Willow]] and [[Lasher]] quickly. The pack became more of a family to him than any he had ever been a part of before. Over a series of events that included [[Atticus]], Peregrine's brother, being injured, Dante was elevated to Beta male. Despite being uncomfortable with the idea of promotion over his close friend (and Peregrine's lover)) [[Lasher]], Dante accepted.

He held that rank until [[Lasher]], [[Fox]], and [[Peregrine]] one day decided to go scouting. Fox injured herself and Peregrine returned to announce that they were moving, splitting from the pack to live where she had remained to recover with Lasher. Suddenly, Dante and [[Blue Willow]] were required to sort out the future of the pack themselves. Peregrine then rushed off, leaving a furious Dante and taking a few members with him. After discussions and weighing the options, a reluctant Dante once again accepted more responsibility and took up the Alpha rank.

After a turbulent first tenure, Dante decided for the good of the pack to turn down Peregrine's offer that the Plateau and the newly formed [[Redhawk Caldera]] be sister packs. This essentially ended his friendship with the man. The rocky nature of their packs continued for a while, intensified by the extremes of [[Osprey Jr.]] and her reactions to her father's abandonment. Some good was to be had, however - [[Lasher]] had returned to them soon after Peregrine's departure, and he and [[Blue Willow]] were granted permission to have children of their own. [[Saena]] stepped up in the pack and [[Osprey]], after disappearing for at time, rejoined them once more.

Through the process, [[Peregrine]] learned of [[Osprey Jr.]]'s actions and he and Dante mended things. Then the season came and Dante, unaware of his burgeoning feelings for [[Osprey]], failed to attempt to receive her advances. She instead became pregnant with a stranger's pups, an occurrence that Dante took immensely hard. They eventually resolved things, and [[Osprey]] took to sleeping in his den.

The same day that Osprey had her pups, Dante confronted [[Koda]] about disrespecting [[Blue Willow]]. They fought and Dante lost, another blow to his pride. Fortunately, the man did not attempt to take the throne, choosing to leave the pack instead. Dante struggled with this until [[Lasher]], [[Blue Willow]], and [[Osprey]] reminded him that the pack chose to follow him.

Things passed relatively quietly until news was received that [[Osprey Jr.]] was missing and that [[Saena]], seeking news of her, was attacked by [[Fox]] at [[Redhawk Caldera]]. Though the girl had already left to start [[Redtail Rise]], Dante and [[Lasher]] still were angry on her behalf and wondered what it meant for their own pack. Then, quiet continued.

Abruptly, the peace was broken when a small fire broke out in the Plateau's forest. Most of the pack made it through unharmed, but Dante was brokenhearted when [[Osprey]] was among those missing. He searched for her a long while in the choking smoke, but eventually was forced to give her up as lost. Unable to manage the overwhelming loss, he left the pack lands, taking a trip towards where he'd parted with his sister so long ago. Before he could even reach, however, he received word of her. A messenger delivered the news that she and his nieces and nephews had all been slain, lost to the hand of his half-sister and brother. It was a forewarning - he knew what it meant. Atrix had set up his conditions for their claim and they were taking it, hunting down the traitors who had left. He would be next if they found him.

So Dante returned. The Plateau decided to do war with the Caldera if necessary after finding out about Peregrine's actions against his former children, and Dante continued to lead, paranoid of their borders. His anger eventually led him to conflict with [[Charon]] over the pain of [[Osprey]] and the boy's callous words. Dante lost control and both ended the fight maimed. As the Plateau progressed, the three leaders began to speak of relocation. A search for suitable territories commenced, and Dante expressed his preference that [[Lasher]] take the lead in their new home. The man accepted, naming [[Dante]] his Beta once that time came.

They found the Sentinels, and just before moving, [[Osprey]] returned to them.

=== Donnelaith ===
The move happened smoothly and together they staked a new claim in the Sentinels - [[Donnelaith]]. [[Lasher]] took the lead alongside [[Blue Willow]] and Dante stepped into his new role as Beta. Even more surprising, after their move, [[Osprey]] asked Dante to become her mate. He agreed and after a long, long time of dancing around the subject, they finally became a pair.

After [[Blue Willow]] and [[Lasher]] welcome a second set of children, Dante and [[Osprey]] decide to try having some of their own. Dante is still guilty over the ones she had stillborn, wondering if he could have saved them had he not been so stubborn about keeping his distance and closing her out. But he is excited to be a father and to give her a second chance at a family.

A band of wolves began to make trouble for [[Donnelaith]], raiding their borders and attacking their members. [[Lasher]] chose to go alone to make an alliance with a pack on the coast and a woman he had confidence with - [[Caiaphas]]. This drove a wedge in his relationship with Dante for a time, who was angry he seemingly didn't care the danger he put himself in.

The situation eventually resolved and Dante got past his anger. Osprey's pregnancy advanced and locusts descended on the wilds, taking all of the greenery and much of the prey with them. [[Terance]], [[Sagittaria]], and [[Wraen]] were born just in time for a famine, but they were well loved from the start.

The famine made life harder, and exhaustion hit the pack from all sides. Finally it took [[Lasher]], a heavy loss for all of [[Donnelaith]], and Dante no less. [[Blue Willow]] had already disappeared previously, meaning that little of the original Plateau pack remained. With Osprey's declining health and the lack of food, the pair made the decision together to move their family south. There they could start a place of their own in a kinder climate to them both. Dante too weathered the cold badly ever since his actions in the fire.

=== Post Teekon ===

Dante and Osprey found a suitable location in a southern forest and together built a thriving pack ([[Redleaf-DiSarinno Pack]]). [[Helena]] joined them, to her old friend's delight, as did a variety of new faces. A year in, Osprey had another litter; [[Maia]], [[Cassandra]], and [[Coriander]].

Dante worried about Osprey's failing health and depression, so his time was often split between time with her and watching the pack. [[Sarah]] stepped into the role of alpha. Her brother [[Terance]] left for the wilds and presumably created his own pack. Dante couldn't have been prouder. Wraen and Maia followed consecutively, each in their own time, and while he worried he was glad to know his children had each other out in the world.

Before [[Maia]]'s departure, three more children were born - [[Jupiter]], [[Junona]], and [[Janus]]. After this, Osprey's health took a sharp nose dive, requiring more and more that [[Sarah]] lead the pack. Fortunately [[Cori]] showed a knack for leadership as well. When fires began to occur, the prospect of moving was discussed, but Osprey would likely not survive the move. They remained and, that fall, disaster struck.

A larger fire than any before took the pack lands. All of their packmates escaped, including their newest children, but [[Osprey]] was unable to flee the flames. Dante refused to flee without her and together they perished in the smoke in November of 2018.
