'''Prayer of Dedication'''
<br> | |||
Mighty one, look upon me
<br> | |||
Purify me with your venom
<br> | |||
Your poison feeds the mouth of disorder
<br> | |||
I obey your law I obey the disorder
<br> | |||
Sithis, I give myself to you
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
Mighty one, see me | |||
<br> | |||
Wash away any weakness so I may be strong
<br> | |||
Never will I falter, never will I let you down
<br> | |||
I will defend you with all I have
<br> | |||
Sithis, I strive for you
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
Mighty one, watch me | |||
<br> | |||
Rinse away all that is impure
<br> | |||
Let me be your fangs | |||
<br> | |||
The one who cuts through your enemies’ life
<br> | |||
Sithis, I am ready to fight for you
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
Mighty one, guide me | |||
<br> | |||
Cleanse my mind, let my will be great
<br> | |||
If I fall let me shed this skin
<br> | |||
I know no fear | |||
<br> | |||
Sithis, I will sacrifice myself for you
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
'''That of the Void''' | |||
<br> | |||
That which is eternal void
<br> | |||
First creator, final destroyer
<br> | |||
All that is born from nothing
<br> | |||
Returned to nothing once again
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
Day that melts into the dusk
<br> | |||
Life taken by a pointed thrust
<br> | |||
Stone that crumbles into dust
<br> | |||
Death that blooms back into life
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
Unwanted change, needed change
<br> | |||
Growing, decaying, reborn again
<br> | |||
Like the darkness, like your death
<br> | |||
Nothing words on a dying breath
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
Seasons change, despite our will
<br> | |||
All things change, despite our fear
<br> | |||
Look upon that which is void
<br> | |||
Look upon with open eyes
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
'''Lies of the Dread Father'''
<br> | |||
Round-tongues give it form and shape
<br> | |||
The it that is turned into he
<br> | |||
They whisper to his decayed bride
<br> | |||
To honor him, to worship him
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
They name it father, dreaded so
<br> | |||
They pray with blades of dreaded blood
<br> | |||
They speak one facet of the truth
<br> | |||
Something clinging to their tongues
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
Shapelessness given form
<br> | |||
Change turned to stagnation
<br> | |||
One truth that becomes untruth
<br> | |||
A brotherhood of something eyes
<br> | |||
<br> | |||

=== Prayers to the Night Mother ===
'''Prayer to the Night Mother'''
<br> | |||
Day turns to night, | |||
<br> | |||
And life turns to death,
<br> | |||
And the Night Mother teaches us to dance.
<br> | |||
Hecate, Demeter, Kali,
<br> | |||
Nemesis, Morrighan, Tiamet,
<br> | |||
Bringers of destruction,
<br> | |||
You who embody Mephala,
<br> | |||
I honor you as the world goes dark,
<br> | |||
And as the world slowly dies.
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
'''The Black Sacrament'''
<br> | |||
<small>[https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:A_Kiss,_Sweet_Mother This is the typical prayer used to summon the Dark Brotherhood's services via The Night Mother]</small>
<br> | |||
Sweet Mother, sweet Mother,
<br> | |||
Send your child unto me,
<br> | |||
For the sins of the unworthy must be baptized in blood and fear.
<br> | |||
<br> | |||

'''Prayer to Mephala'''
<br> | |||
<small>[https://www.reddit.com/r/teslore/comments/astb93/prayers_to_the_daedra/ From this credit post]</small>
<br> | |||
I whisper to the Goddess of Schemes:
<br> | |||
Mephala. | |||
<br> | |||
I lie for the Goddess of Secrets:
<br> | |||
Mephala. | |||
<br> | |||
I betray for the Goddess of Plots:
<br> | |||
Mephala. | |||
<br> | |||
Hail to the Webspinner.
<br> | |||
She who plucks the strings of fate with the black hands of death.
<br> | |||
She who weaves the strings of life with the black hands of birth.
<br> | |||
Mephala. | |||
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
'''Call to Mephala''' | |||
<br> | |||
Oh Mephala | |||
<br> | |||
Mighty weaver of our destiny,
<br> | |||
Receive our prayer, | |||
<br> | |||
Have mercy on us, | |||
<br> | |||
Speak to us in our dreams
<br> | |||
Because we are your unworthy servants.
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
'''Praise to Mephala'''
<br> | |||
Blessed be thou, | |||
<br> | |||
Oh, Lady of Threads, | |||
<br> | |||
Because your breath | |||
<br> | |||
Is the wind | |||
<br> | |||
Your tears, | |||
<br> | |||
The crystal-blue water
<br> | |||
of the seas. | |||
<br> | |||
You wield the claw, | |||
<br> | |||
You watch life, | |||
<br> | |||
The fate you spin | |||
<br> | |||
According to thy mind. | |||
<br> | |||
For water guide our thoughts,
<br> | |||
Lead us through the storm,
<br> | |||
The sand | |||
<br> | |||
Because the sand is like Mephala,
<br> | |||
and Mephala is like the sand.
<br> | |||

<br> | |||
'''Daily Prayer of Dedication to Mephala'''
<br> | |||
<small>''(The words of the prayer sound rhythmic and reverent, a statement of devotion.)''</small>
<br> | |||
Lady of Whispers, I praise You to whom my life is dedicated.
<br> | |||
Mistress of Secrets, I offer to you my lifeblood and my essence.
<br> | |||
Mother of Spiders, that I may continue to serve you, take my thread in Your paws.
<br> | |||
Let the course of the future be changed by Your will and my sacrifice.
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
'''Murder Prayer''' | |||
<br> | |||
<small>''(This time, each line oozes menace like a poisoned blade, and the last line ends in a hiss like the drawing of a knife.)''</small>
<br> | |||
Lady of Whispers, this life I take for myself.
<br> | |||
To You I give the new shape of the Web,
<br> | |||
The now-severed strands ripe for the taking,
<br> | |||
The fate that was in motion now changed to one of my choosing.
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
'''Spying Prayer''' | |||
<br> | |||
<small>''(This sounding like the slithering of things in the darkness, and the echoes in the cavernous Refuge are... disturbing.)''</small>
<br> | |||
Mistress of Secrets, We beseech You to bless this grouping,
<br> | |||
Enacted in secret, drawing tight the hidden strings,
<br> | |||
Changing without revealing, directing without touching,
<br> | |||
And with the completion of our pattern, You guide Destiny as You see fit.
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
'''Seduction Prayer'''
<br> | |||
<small>''(This time, her tone begins soft and seductive, but as the words move on, they become filled with steel and menace.)''</small>
<br> | |||
Mistress of Secrets, Binder of Fates,
<br> | |||
I have drawn this soul to me and made them mine.
<br> | |||
Innocence replaced by experience and confusion replaced with devotion.
<br> | |||
I claim their fate for You, their body for myself, and their life for my Family.
<br> | |||
As I am Yours, they are mine.
<br> | |||

<br> | |||
Hail Sithis, for I am with thee.
<br> | |||
Oh, Sweet Mother, lead me to every dark sanctuary.
<br> | |||
I will follow his orders without question and proceed without fail,
<br> | |||
For Sithis is whom I cherish and hail.
<br> | |||
<br> | |||
We are the listeners; the Children of the Dark.
<br> | |||
By Sithis’ name we leave his mark.
<br> | |||
Loved by the Night Mother;
<br> | |||
She fixes the broken and speaks to the unspoken.
<br> | |||
We are the Dark Brotherhood.

Prayers to Sithis and Mephala
These are a series of prayers to Sithis and Mephala/The Night Mother from canonical and non-canonical sources. Feel free to use this for any Melonii characters or any characters who worship these deities! Unfortunately, some of these sites have gone down since I have collected them, so I will try to cite them if I can.
Prayers to Sithis
From this site. No clue of the canonical value, but they're interesting enough
Times of Trial I
Sithis, Bless us for your cause
Make ready your wrath,
For our purpose, we have no pause,
For we battle for his wrath
Sithis, Bless us for your cause
Make ready your wrath
With bared fangs we have no pause,
For in battle we know his wrath.
Sithis, Bless us for your cause
Present to them your wrath
Scorn them, for they must be shown
Why they have invoked his wrath
Judge of our Worth, Great Renewer
Through whom life springs eternal
We offer unto you this life, your child
That you may temper it in your
Flames, and forge his anew
Judge of our worth
We pray for the soul of the shed
That his life may be deemed worthy
And his new skin be strong
Judge of our worth
We live only to prove worthy of our lives
And to approach death with hearts free of fear
That we may ascend to your divinity
Greatest Sithis above, Defeater of time and fountain of life
We pray for this, your child
That you guide his and judge his
And reward his or punish his as you see fit.
Greatest Sithis above
We pray that he may follow your path always
And heed your teachings
As he values his life
Greatest Sithis above
Of the gifts you which you grant
We pray that your child shall make use of them wisely
And proving his worth, be rewarded with life.
Times of Trial II
Sithis Almighty, Lord of existence
We thank you for our lives and for our will
For our freedom and our souls
And for our enemies, Against whom we prove our worth
Sithis Almighty,
We pray that we may ever follow your path
And use wisely your spirit body and mind
With which you furnish our being
Sithis Almighty
We offer thanks for your omniscient guidance
And pray that we may ever hear your truth
And suffer your judgment gladly
Father Sithis
We worship you
And thank you for our pelts
Father Sithis, guide us
And grant to us good fortune
Father Sithis
Judge our worth
And punish the unworthy.
Prayer of Dedication
Mighty one, look upon me
Purify me with your venom
Your poison feeds the mouth of disorder
I obey your law I obey the disorder
Sithis, I give myself to you
Mighty one, see me
Wash away any weakness so I may be strong
Never will I falter, never will I let you down
I will defend you with all I have
Sithis, I strive for you
Mighty one, watch me
Rinse away all that is impure
Let me be your fangs
The one who cuts through your enemies’ life
Sithis, I am ready to fight for you
Mighty one, guide me
Cleanse my mind, let my will be great
If I fall let me shed this skin
I know no fear
Sithis, I will sacrifice myself for you
That of the Void
That which is eternal void
First creator, final destroyer
All that is born from nothing
Returned to nothing once again
Day that melts into the dusk
Life taken by a pointed thrust
Stone that crumbles into dust
Death that blooms back into life
Unwanted change, needed change
Growing, decaying, reborn again
Like the darkness, like your death
Nothing words on a dying breath
Seasons change, despite our will
All things change, despite our fear
Look upon that which is void
Look upon with open eyes
Lies of the Dread Father
Round-tongues give it form and shape
The it that is turned into he
They whisper to his decayed bride
To honor him, to worship him
They name it father, dreaded so
They pray with blades of dreaded blood
They speak one facet of the truth
Something clinging to their tongues
Shapelessness given form
Change turned to stagnation
One truth that becomes untruth
A brotherhood of something eyes
Prayers to the Night Mother
Prayer to the Night Mother
Day turns to night,
And life turns to death,
And the Night Mother teaches us to dance.
Hecate, Demeter, Kali,
Nemesis, Morrighan, Tiamet,
Bringers of destruction,
You who embody Mephala,
I honor you as the world goes dark,
And as the world slowly dies.
The Black Sacrament
This is the typical prayer used to summon the Dark Brotherhood's services via The Night Mother
Sweet Mother, sweet Mother,
Send your child unto me,
For the sins of the unworthy must be baptized in blood and fear.
Prayers to Mephala
Prayer to Mephala
From this credit post
I whisper to the Goddess of Schemes:
Mephala.
I lie for the Goddess of Secrets:
Mephala.
I betray for the Goddess of Plots:
Mephala.
Hail to the Webspinner.
She who plucks the strings of fate with the black hands of death.
She who weaves the strings of life with the black hands of birth.
Mephala.
Call to Mephala
Oh Mephala
Mighty weaver of our destiny,
Receive our prayer,
Have mercy on us,
Speak to us in our dreams
Because we are your unworthy servants.
Praise to Mephala
Blessed be thou,
Oh, Lady of Threads,
Because your breath
Is the wind
Your tears,
The crystal-blue water
of the seas.
You wield the claw,
You watch life,
The fate you spin
According to thy mind.
For water guide our thoughts,
Lead us through the storm,
The sand
Because the sand is like Mephala,
and Mephala is like the sand.
The following prayers are from this forum post
Daily Prayer of Dedication to Mephala
(The words of the prayer sound rhythmic and reverent, a statement of devotion.)
Lady of Whispers, I praise You to whom my life is dedicated.
Mistress of Secrets, I offer to you my lifeblood and my essence.
Mother of Spiders, that I may continue to serve you, take my thread in Your paws.
Let the course of the future be changed by Your will and my sacrifice.
Murder Prayer
(This time, each line oozes menace like a poisoned blade, and the last line ends in a hiss like the drawing of a knife.)
Lady of Whispers, this life I take for myself.
To You I give the new shape of the Web,
The now-severed strands ripe for the taking,
The fate that was in motion now changed to one of my choosing.
Spying Prayer
(This sounding like the slithering of things in the darkness, and the echoes in the cavernous Refuge are... disturbing.)
Mistress of Secrets, We beseech You to bless this grouping,
Enacted in secret, drawing tight the hidden strings,
Changing without revealing, directing without touching,
And with the completion of our pattern, You guide Destiny as You see fit.
Seduction Prayer
(This time, her tone begins soft and seductive, but as the words move on, they become filled with steel and menace.)
Mistress of Secrets, Binder of Fates,
I have drawn this soul to me and made them mine.
Innocence replaced by experience and confusion replaced with devotion.
I claim their fate for You, their body for myself, and their life for my Family.
As I am Yours, they are mine.
Prayer to Sithis and Mephala/Night Mother
From this deviantart account!
Hail Sithis, for I am with thee.
Oh, Sweet Mother, lead me to every dark sanctuary.
I will follow his orders without question and proceed without fail,
For Sithis is whom I cherish and hail.
We are the listeners; the Children of the Dark.
By Sithis’ name we leave his mark.
Loved by the Night Mother;
She fixes the broken and speaks to the unspoken.
We are the Dark Brotherhood.
